This is big city quality sushi in Bonney Lake. Not going to lie it’s a treat but so worth it. Pics are beautiful but don’t do justice to the quality of the dishes. Will be back??

Tempura was not even tempura, it’s panko fried vegetables which is called “fry” in Japanese, not Tempura. Karaage tasted like Korean fried chicken.Sashimi was fresh but sushi rice was okay. Presentation was amazing. If you are going for the presentation and Sashimi it might be a good place but avoid here if you are looking for an authentic Japanese food and sushi.

The dining experience is unlike anything in this little town of Bonney Lake so it was a very pleasant surprise. Great service. The care with which they present their dishes and the quality of the food is outstanding. You do pay more because of it though. I think it's worth it because now that there are so many sushi restaurants to choose from my husband and I find ourselves being more dissenting about the quality. A poor sushi experience stays with you (and not in a good way) forever but this particular restaurant has definitely delivered on quality. The place is small and cozy so plan ahead. I would not recommend for large groups. But definitely intimate for a romantic dinner for two.

Great service, delicious food. The presentation of food was beautiful. The warm hand towel was one of my favorite parts. Which is known as Oshibori. True Japanese culture.

I have finally decided to pen this review because although my first visit was a positive one, my last visit will be my last visit.About two weeks ago I took some friends from out of town to sushi kuma on a Wednesday night and when we were seated around 6:30 there was just one other occupied table nearby. We ordered appetizers to start: chicken Karage, uzuzkurri, and negihama. The chicken karage was good and gone in seconds. The highlight of our meal.At that time it was around 6:45 and we saw there was happy hour from 7-9p so we asked if we could order a merlot at 7p under the happy hour prices. To our surprise, the waitress said that happy hour prices were only for guests that arrived after 7pm. Wow. I am still shocked thinking back to it. When asked why she couldn’t just put the order in after 7p, she stated that they are slow and trying to get more guests in after 7p so they can’t make an exception. We asked if my nieces (under 10 years old) could at least get the free ramune drink they offered kids for happy hour and she also declined. While I understand “rules are rules,” they had a real opportunity to make us repeat customers by showing us a great experience. I know it was within their power because the waitress said she came up with the happy hour rule. Additionally, only one other table was seated while we were there. They had the resources and time to deliver exceptional service and simply chose not to.But I digress. We ordered our sushi and it came out in a timely manner. However, the waitress dropped a fried shrimp head that was part of my friends meal. She went back to the kitchen and they fired up a new one. She started walking towards us again and dropped the new one. While we were all watching. She decided to leave it and delivered the sushi to my friend without acknowledging what happened. At this point, we were all so disenchanted, we didn’t bother bringing it up. We just wanted to finish our food and get out of there. Unfortunately, the sushi was not good enough to redeem the front of house.I had high hopes for sushi kuma since I live nearby, but this was such a poor experience, I won’t be returning.

Way. To. Pricey. Like we live in Bonney Lake a meal for 3 (one being a kid) should not be $200. We didn't even get anything special. Had better in Bellevue and there was at least a view! Good service though

Great food and wonderful service. I'd recommend making a reservation. Come hungry and eager to try something new.

I love sashimi/sushi but disappointed at so many times/places.This place rocks!Worth the money for the boat! Variety of different parts of high-quality fishes and Uni/ Amaebi/etc all over the boat.Didn't expect these high quality 'Neta's in the south area.If you are the sashimi nerd who is willing to pay for the right quality!? Check this place out and ask the chef to float the boat. ?

This hands down was one of the best sushi places I've been too. The inside is small and intimate, the staff is very friendly. My friend and I went here for a fun girls night out. I got the peach saki that was delicious and she had the pineapple. Both were incredible . We shared shishito peppers and soft shell crap , and yellowtail nigiri ( melt in your mouth!) so fresh I'm drooling thinking about it, I did the laketap and volcano lobster roll. Amazing textures and taste . I really hope this place sticks around .
