Some people at service are great and some are very rude so don't get surprised if you meet a rude person.

My friends and I came here for brunch and the experience was fantastic! The service was so accommodating and prompt and friendly. No ask seemed to big. We were indecisive and no one rushed us. There were many servers bringing our hot food out to us and we didn't have to wait for drinks or waters to be refilled. There were menu items I didn't get to try so I am excited to go back. There is a 20% service charge for bigger parties, which guarantees the servers get tipped, and I definitely left extra for my servers

$50 for two happy hour, two drinks, two happy hour items. Underwhelmed, not so happy. Smash burger is not a smash burger. What is the cost for shrimp flatbread, 50 cents?

Lauren was our server, all was set up for us in advance. Lauren managed our drinks, appetizers and entrees like a pro, she was knowledgable, friendly and very organized, for a large party (14) Beardslee had all served at the same time, which isn't always true elsewhere. All appetizers came out together, same with drinks and entrees. We were so impressed, we offered additional tip above the 20% gratuity included. We will definitely come back in the future. Thank you for making this bday event the best!

I love this place. The wait staff has always been friendly and SO knowledgeable when we go. They are enthusiastic and you can tell they genuinely enjoy working at beardslee as opposed to other restaurant staff at other restaurants. Those complaining about the 20% service charge (that they are up front about on their menu) should acknowledge that this takes away the expectation of a tip, and ensures that their staff here will be paid a livable wage and receive healthcare benefits. Their food has always been exquisite and they always have something I enjoy on their taps. Fav place for a nice dinner out!

Tonight my boyfriend and I went to eat at Beardslee after a long day, we walked in and the host was welcoming and we sat openly in n the bar. I believe our servers name was Maddie, she got right to us and gave us the best service she was very patient and attentive we barely had to wait for anything. She paid attention to everything we were saying and was nice and brief and ended our experience with the check without even asking knowing exactly when we wanted because she listened to us. When we go back we will be asking for her. Food was amazing also we got the buffalo cauliflower and the muenster burger. Both amazing! Great experience.

Atmosphere and style were great. Josh K was an exceptional server! He was very friendly, knowledgeable, personable, and funny! The food was pretty good and the beer was even better. The rest of the service staff were also fantastic, but I didn't get any of their names. The major issue for me was the extra 20% "service charge" that goes entirely to the restaurant. We were given an extra little card (shown in the picture attached) with the menus that explains this charge even though the information is already on every menu. The card even says "Additional gratuities are appreciated, but not expected" which I guarantee leads plenty of patrons to refrain from tipping the full amount that the person who is tending to their every need deserves. I posit that the restaurant owners do not provide any direct service to the customer. They pay people to do that. Therefore, it is shameful for them to ask for a "service charge" that is as high as a tip for "really good service" would be for a server. Good on them to hire great people like Josh, and really cool that they provide benefits to their staff beyond what is the norm in the restaurant industry. Operating a restaurant is difficult and many don't make it for more than a few years. I understand the struggle, but please don't start straying into deceptive marketing strategies. Raise the prices on food or drinks, reevaluate your suppliers, investigate more affordable properties, work on getting better distribution for your beer (which has a great cost:profit ratio), or any number of other strategies to make the venture more profitable so it can provide the great benefits to the employees. I won't be going back there until they drop the obscene 20% "service charge" or I have a job offer to hire Josh away. This service charge trend is ridiculous and I've seen a lot of places charging 5%, but 20% with a comment specifically saying that additional gratuities aren't expected is disgusting. Josh and the rest of the wait staff are directly responsible for 2 of the 3 stars on this review.

Went for dinner while visiting Seattle from searching the area. Nice ambiance for happy hour or just meeting friends or family. Big bar, plenty of seating and a nice small seating area by the fireplace for 4-5 to have drinks and appetizers. A good menu and great drinks and appetizers. Recommend any of the appetizers with the chicken, cauliflower wings, and mushrooms being delicious. A must to try their drink menu with drinks from their onsite brewery.

This is my favourite of John Howie's restaurants. It's casual, it's fun to go to with friends or family, and of course the food is fantastic. A great deal of care is put into creating each dish and everything you order truly feels like it is made for you in mind. The steak is a must, but I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. They recently revamped some of the recipes of the mains and the selection of desserts. The local brews are also very quality and any of the servers can point you towards one that suits your palette. This place is a favourite of mine to spend some time with my family and eat good food for warm times.

This was our first visit and every single dish was delicious. We tried multiple cocktails that were also great. We loved the selection available and will definitely be back. Highly recommend the fried chicken, beef stroganoff and fish and chips.
