Place would be better if they fired the whole staff. Had 3 beers and was told were not gonna serve me no more. Closed my tabs with a big 0 tip. I usually tip $20-$40 I like to see my bartenders happy. This place sucks.

Finally went to this local dive bar on Bothell-Everett Highway. It's got darts, a pool table, and one pinball machine. They have trivia and karaoke on Wednesdays. The draft cider was tasty and the mini corn dogs were great. The tables outdoors are for smokers. There are a few booths and tables inside, small though. Good place!

Parking: Small lot in front and another lot to the north.

I went out with a group of friends this weekend and we decided to go to Bert's, because its always been one of our go-to's. I loved this place and always recommended my friends to hangout here, unfortunately that is no longer the case.. when we were here this previous weekend, I was ordering drinks not only for myself but for my two friends as well. after my second drink, I had gone up to the bar to order a 3rd and also order more drinks for my friends., at this point I have had 3 drinks and 1 shot. The bartender looks at me and says "you need to slow down after this" I did not argue and I was not rude I simply responded "okay, but I just want to make sure you know that I have only had 3 drinks and the rest of the drinks I ordered are for my other two friends" she smirked back at me and said okay. after that I had a bad taste in my mouth and decided to finish my drink and then go close out my tab. when I went to go close out my tab, I had a friend in front of me ordering herself and one of our other friends a shot. The bartender looks at me and POINTS and says "it better not be for her" at this point I was feeling extremely uncomfortable and felt like they were being nothing but disrespectful all night long. I wrote NO TIP a couple different times on the receipt and she looks back at me, laughs and says "no tip? " I responded "you haven't been very nice tonight and I tip based off of service and experience, both were bad with you" she then told me that if I was not going to tip, then I need to leave. I went to grab my stuff and leave and I explained to my friends what was happening and the bartender proceeded to follow me outside and tried to argue with me. she tried to tell my friends that I was getting kicked out because I had an attitude, but I am the type of person who does not like confrontation and would not give them attitude for no reason. My friends proceeded to leave as well and did not tip because of the way the bartender spoke to me and them when she followed me outside. we left after all not tipping and the bouncer followed us outside and says "the bartender said you're all 86'd". Every time I have gone to this bar I have always had a good experience and this last time I went has ruined everything good I loved about this place. I ALWAYS tip, this would be the first time I have never tipped a bartender/server in my life, a tip is not required and it shouldn't grant the reason to 86 someone from their establishment.

I have been coming to Bert's for at least a year or more. I have went out of my way to get work get together's at this bar and even last night I pushed to get my group of 8 to this bar. I actually really enjoyed this place because of the big smoking patio and never really had any issues up until last night.Towards the end of the night around midnight my friend who was not having a good experience with the bartender, closed her tab and decided not to tip. The bartender says "oh no tip?" so my friend replies with "no you haven't been very nice" and she walks outside to the patio where our group is sitting. Here comes the bouncer telling her she has to leave. The bartender then comes out to instigate the situation which was unnecessary. So when my friend starts saying it's only because she didn't leave a tip, the bartender chimes in saying "no its because of your attitude". We were all shocked at how this unfolded but we all start getting ready to leave as well. Because of our experience and the fact that our night was getting cut short over a grouchy entitled bartender we all decide not to tip when closing out our three tabs. We leave and are all standing outside trying to plan where to go next. Yet again here comes the bouncer letting all of us know we are all 86'ed and not allowed to come back. Just confirms and shows my friend was originally kicked out not for her "attitude" but for not tipping and we aren't allowed to come back because we didn't either. The last time I was 86'ed from a bar was when I was 21, stupid, and rowdy. Nothing we did last night warranted our group not being allowed to come back. A tip is optional it is not a requirement. It is based on service. You don't give good service you don't get a tip??‍♀️The bartender should take notes that it isn't an obligation.Oh well, since I'm not allowed to return they have lost all the future business I would have brought them and I'll be sure to tell people not come here.

I was at this establishment and the bartender had an attitude that I didint want lime crushed in my drink so did not tip! As the night progressed she 86 my friend because she didn’t tip because of her attitude. She was kicked out 3 of us went to close our tab and when we left the bar the security guard came out and told all of us (8) that we were 86 now I know it’s because we didn’t tip was trying to give Maria the benefit of the doubt but ya sorry hunny we won’t be back you don’t deserve the tips. It’s a benefit to get a tip not an obligation remember that!!!! You never know what someone is going through financially if they are able to tip or not!

I haven’t been to Bert's tavern in about 20 years I was excited to check out the bar. when we got to the bar two girls where working and the bar itself was full but still open tables we went to a table and waited. With no help and no sign saying it’s a walk up bar.nor did I see a line of people ordering.I was very disappointed that with two girls working they didn’t have time to work the tables. I go to a few dive bars in the area with one bartender and they can work the whole floor. Very disappointed. Won’t be recommending this bar.
