We waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged when we got there. We were eventually seated, but no one came. We waited 20 minutes without anyone coming by so we left. The restaurant was only about half full, but maybe they were short-staffed.
These chefs clearly misunderstand what huevos rancheros truly are. What they put on the plate was nothing more than a couple of poached eggs on a tostada. While I can appreciate their desire to be innovative and "avant-garde," it's downright ridiculous to misrepresent such a classic dish. Huevos rancheros can be uniquely interpreted at each restaurant, but this version falls flat. Furthermore, including side dishes that are not part of traditional Mexican cuisine misses the mark entirely. There are countless creative alternatives they could have employed to elevate the dish without straying so far from its roots.
We had nice service—attentive but not intrusive. Just had eggs and bacon. The eggs were fine. Bacon was badly burnt. I couldn't eat it all. At 10:00 it was nice and quiet. I requested a quiet table and we we seated in a room with no one. When we left about 12:30, every table filled and quite loud. Our server said Saturdays are always busy.
Toast was burnt, English muffin for the eggs benedict was also so burnt so it was impossible to cut. They were out of several things, including bacon on a Sunday morning. There was only one other table in the restaurant for Sunday brunch yet it took 50 minutes for the food to come out. We could not see the menus it was so dark. I would not eat breakfast here again. There are superior alternatives nearby.
We had a bite at McMenamins Tavern on the Square before seeing Uncle Buzzy at Hayne's Hall. The Tavern is a fun, warm atmosphere, with great service. Thank you!
Even though there was barely anyone in here it took forever for the waitress to take our order. We had reservations for 8 and were promptly seated. We had 2 extra people show up but instead of changing tables we decided to keep the table we had and let the 2 children eat on the couch by the fireplace. After FINALLY taking our order we waited.....and waited.....and waited for our meal. After about 40 minutes our meals arrived. Food was OK but for the price we expected a little something better. Instead of adding weird ingredients to standard fare they should have kept the old menu. Since most of the food was fried or brunch items I'm wondering what the heck took so long to cook?! Probably will not be back unless someone else is footing the bill as our total came to almost $400! And even though they knew it was my son's birthday we were not even comped his dessert which was a very over-liquored rum/raisin something. BUT they did put a candle in it!
There are a lack of good breakfast restaurants in the area, but the Tavern on the Square fits our need exactly. We stayed overnight at the hotel, which made this a convenient place to have breakfast. The food was good, the service was friendly. We will definitely be back!
We were here spending the night for NYE and enjoyed a fun time. McMenamins Anderson School was the perfect blend of holiday festive with laid-back. We really enjoyed our dinner at the Tavern and appreciated the excellent staff who took perfect care of us. It's great to see a menu that offers appealing GF and Vegan options. Outstanding corkage policy. Fun to have fire pits set up around outside for before & after dinner relaxing.
We had dinner with friends and had a great meal. We got a lot of starters and a couple dinners and shared it all, really good.

We had a 6pm reservation and didn't get our food until 8. 3 hour dinner for the wrong reasons, completely understaffed.

Can only rate the service. Sat in full view of the server for 35 minutes and she never came to take our order. At least they gave us water. Wished for more, left hungry.

Food was a bit too spicy for me. They need less spice options for people who can't handle the heat.
Service was great.

The Jamaican rice bowl was amazing amd the drinks were really good. The mojito actually had fresh lime juice in it which doesn't happen at other restaurants!
The staff are friendly and polite amd very patient with my friend who was indecisive about her choice. Definitely recommend 👌
