McMenamins Tavern on the Square

Great place but dinner for 4 took 2 hours and 40 minutes. The server was slow, the cooks were even slower, and the fire pit outside was smoking up the inside making it hard to breathe. I have been here for lunch several times and it was fantastic. I will never come here again for dinner!

Ordered 2 burgers. Took 1 hour and 40m to get them. Historically, all of the restaurants here have bad service, but this broke the record.

Our server was super kind and the hostess was really accommodating to our larger party size!

The fish and chips was not impressive. I am not a large woman and I was left hungry. Cabbage is cheap increase the serving with the fish. Fish didn't look appetizing same shape which makes me question real fish? They was not a lot of flavor to fish. My local pub does a better job. I love the ambience of your restaurant but I would not consider your pub again for a special meal.

Food order took more than 30 minutes to arrive despite very few early dinner patrons in the restaurant. Beet salad had very few beets, just a lot of lettuce.

After we were seated, nobody cane to our table for over 25 minutes. We had no waters or anything at the table. Once we had a waitress, we ordered drinks apps and our main meals. Our drinks came 20 minutes later, our apps came an HOUR later and our meals came TWO hours later! Our dishes and dinks piled up on our table as nobody would clear the table. I asked our waitress if she didn't mind taking the 6 (yes 6) empty cups/glasses off our table...she looked confused so I had to ask again. The food was good, but the service killed it.

We had the tavern burger which was amazing and was a large portion. Also we got the black and white fries which were amazing and came with a tasty sauce.

It was amazing like all experiences at any McMenamins, the only thing was the menu was a smaller set menu but that is the only bad

We made a reservation here for Saturday 12.21.2024 at noon. It had been a few years since the last time we had visited here, as our last experience was not good at all. Being so much time had passed, I figured that it couldn't possibly be worse... I was wrong.
We were sat at Noon, which was a great start, but then it took 20 minutes for us to be greeted and brought waters. We ordered drinks immediately and the crab dip to get something started as we were all very hungry. The drinks came out and were just ok... then 40 minutes later (so we have been sitting here an hour at this point) is when our waitress came out to us and said, "Your food is almost ready". I asked her about the crab dip and she had completely forgotten to even put the order in and says, "that's my bad". TWENTY MINUTES LATER is when our meals came out. The food was fine, but we were all so perturbed at this point it didn't matter. We asked for to-go boxes and the checks... We wait another 20 minutes and needed to remind our waitress we were waiting for those two items so we could leave. In total, we were there for two hours, most of which was us waiting to be acknowledged. Mind you, the section we were in only had a couple of other families and the restaurant in whole was not full.
I can say with confidence there will be no more chances given here, which is a shame as the property and restaurant are beautiful, but the restaurant staff needs some major work when it comes to focus and flow. I am so disappointed with the experience and have no intention of ever returning here. Such a waste of time and money.

Beautiful facility but when reservations are made a week in advance and your not seated were requested and confirmed the disappointment begins smoked salmon fettuccine missing salmon wife's quinoa burger crumbley and the occasional visit from waitstaff definitely not worth the money

First time to a McMenamins, it’s a very cool atmosphere place with plenty of seating. The speacitly drinks were okay, would not order the Whiskey Bluberry Mash and the strawberry agua fresca again. The steam clam appetizer was really good and other people’s entrees were pretty good as well. We had the Gacho steak, salmon fillet, and a salad all nicely seasoned and edible. I ordered the smoked salmon linguine which is why this is getting knocked down to 3 stars. It was super salty and the pasta was more of a boxed spaghetti that was about 1 min from being true al dente and for $29 there were only small bits of pieces of salmon. The kind server had the kitchen re-fire the dish, but this time it was still pretty salty with just more lemon. I sent it back and just accepted that I was not having an entree. Everything else was great but unfortunately this dish has missed the mark. It’s a bit over priced for what you get but that is the price to pay for this type of establishment in DT Bothell.

Decent food. Fish is over fried, fries were good. Beer flight is decent, some were below par. Staff very hospitable, ambiance has old vibe with fireplace and nostalgic atmosphere. Great place to hang out.
