I was staying at a hotel nearby and was looking for something lighter for dinner and decided to give this place a try and I am so glad that I did! I had some miso soup and a couple of more simple rolls. The food was flavorful but delicate and honestly some of the best sushi I’ve had. I got some dessert to-go, yuzu panna cotta and it was the perfect balance of sweet and tart. I would definitely come back if I’m in the area again!

Definitely one of the little gems I have found since moving to Bothell. There are so many chain restaurants around it is nice to find a locally owned place that just does really good Japanese food and sushi.

I don’t know why this place isn’t busier, prices are good, staff is attentive, and the food is great. They also have more than just sushi. My husband tried their ramen for the first time last night and said it was on of the best he has had in a while.

If you are debating, just go. It is very much worth it.

Very small restaurant. Good service, but the volume of the food is relatively less compared to other Japanese restaurants we had been to.

We ordered takeout but was a bit disappointed when we picked up the order.

We've dined in and we get take out fairly often. I used to mostly get a huge sashimi platter or their awesome teriyaki but I just got the mango roll. It was so good! It was prepared so beautifully, with salmon (and I think tuna, I don't remember) wrapped over the roll. Neat. Gorgeous. Delicious. Don't sleep on their salmon teriyaki. It has a subtle smoke and melts in your mouth. Nothing nearby matches the quality of Nakagawa.

Wheelchair accessibility: I use a wheelchair and the restaurant, parking and restroom are accessible.

We dropped in for a quick app the other day and ordered the tuna belly sashimi. It practically melted in my mouth! If this is what Japan tastes like, sign me up—it was that authentic! We will definitely go back for the full dining experience.

It is hard to believe that we have such an authentic Japanese restaurant at a suburban shopping center here in Bothell. But make no mistake, Nakagawa is the real deal.Reasonable prices, big portions, and a huge range of dishes done well.We shared oysters, and my dining companion had the Deluxe Bento: sushi, sashimi, tempura, Saba shioyaki (salt grilled mackerel with traditional grated radish accompaniment), soup, rice and salad. $34 and a lot of food.I had today’s soup which had black cod, maitake mushroom, tofu and seaweed followed by sushi omakase. $45 for ten pieces of high quality stuff. (amaebi, hotate, mirugai, madai, aji, two kinds of sake, maguro, toro, and hamachi?).Fish was really high quality. I was really happy I upgraded a bit from the big sushi, sashimi or chirashi. All would have been good but might not have had special fish.

Parking: Several spots in front of the door plus dozens in the shopping centre.

Kid-friendliness: Table next to us had a cute little girl who sat in a safe-looking high chair and got multiple instalments of big plastic cutlery. No kids menu but she seemed happy with kid friendly choices, like chicken katsu.

Worst sushi I've ever had (by FAR), and the most expensive too. Also service was slow. I was pretty shocked honestly.

We had some really great authentic Japanese food here! Their tempura offerings were particularly good compared to other places I have been. Our group of 6 were seated easily and service was wonderful. The star of the evening was the pork belly appetizer it was out of this world yummy. Give me 2 orders of that and some sake and call it good!

Food is good. Ramen is the best in their menu but the service is very slow. Waited for over an hour for our food to come and kids only ordered ramen and it came after 75 mins of waiting. What’s worse is they force a 20% tip on customers with more than 4 guests in the table. It’s automatically added to the bill even with poor service. We used to like this place but the recent service experience soured us from coming back. Too bad.

You owe it to yourself to try this sushi restaurant. The quality is the best I have had in Seattle, and it is the farthest thing you can get from the conveyor belt sushi restaurant. If you want a traditional, homey, sushi atmosphere this is it. Miso soup is the best I have had in the area, and the garlic edamame is also great. The entire staff was so warm and welcoming. Great sushi, great value, great restaurant.
