Update 12/7/2024:
Sat inside and thoroughly enjoyed the cozy ambiance and attentive service. Food was excellent as usual.
Enjoyed a Sunday brunch with friends on a very rainy day. We were seated outside in a tent area that is very well decorated and each table has an overhead heat lamp.
Wait staff was very friendly but service was a little spotty, not sure if it was because they were busy or because we were outside.
They have a "5 oz" basically a cappuccino which was one of the best I've had living here for over 20 years.
I ordered the Cottage Fry Up, which is kind of their greatest hits on a plate. Crispy bacon, delicious sausage patty that didn't taste like Morning Star, super crispy hash brown made with shoe string potatoes - why didn't more people think of that, and perfectly cooked eggs. I highly recommend!
My friends had Eggs Benedict, which was my original choice, and it looked amazing.
I saw many other tempting dishes served up at tables near me. Will definitely come back again!

One of my favorite brunch places. The food is always spectacular and the service is some of the best! Definitely try the sausage if you eat meat. It's my absolute favorite!

Lovely setting on a very cold morning. We sat outside with warmer lamps and it was perfect! They’ll bring you a blanket if you ask. Delicious Cappuccino - a small is normal sized, medium is HUGE! We tried a few dishes - all were tasty! Avocado toast, Mushroom toast, and Eggs Benedict made to perfection!

The ambiance was pleasant, but the overall experience fell short. I’ve tried coming on weekends before, but it’s always packed, and getting a table is a challenge—likely due to the limited brunch options in Bothell. As a result, I often ended up going elsewhere. This time, I finally had the chance to visit with my family.
The shrimp and grits were disappointing—the shrimp were small and lacked flavor. The French toast felt unbalanced. There were only a few scattered berries, which were far from enough to offset the croissant’s greasiness. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the expectation, especially considering the long lines.
If you’re looking for a better brunch experience in the area, I’d recommend Crystal Creek Cafe instead.

0 stars.
We walked in and waited for 30 mins only to get a table that's outside near the road when it's raining and 40F.
When we requested for a table inside, we were told it'll take another 30 mins. I could def see empty tables and I know you can potentially argue that it's reserved.
Put yourself in your customers shoes, would you want to sit out on a rainy day near the road and eat? You can rather say no tables.
Also we were not asked if we'd prefer a table inside or outside. Thanks for keeping us hungry for an hour. Will never ever visit back.
Edit post reply from the owner:
Definitely want to support local businesses. But we were not asked for a table preference - inside or outside when we initially gave our name. That would have easily resolved this. Also, I dont think you should put your business hurdles on the customer. We are just there to have a nice experience and food. You always reserve the right to refuse, I'd rather get refused explicitly much sooner [Hey, we don't think we can accomodate you] than wait for 30 mins to hear I have to wait for 30 mins more. I wish the best!
Delicious French toast! and outdoor seating is always a plus in my book.

There's the kind of restaurant you visit strictly for the main course, maybe even just one dish from the list of mains. Then there's the kind of place where, glancing evereything you think: "I'll have one of everything..." and then, with your kids looking up at you, you follow it up with "Oh, and yes kids... we *are* getting dessert tonight too."
That was my experience at The Cottage. We needed a nice place with some great ambiance, live music, and amazing food. That's exactly what we got. Whether it was the short ribs, pesto pasta, mac and cheese side, the cheese board - or even the items from the kids menu (cheese pizza, turkey and cheese) - everything was great. And then - dessert, my goodness. By this point in the evening I had over-eaten, and yet when we were asked if we had any room for dessert... well, I somehow said yes. The FOMO at this point had carved enough space to precisely fit 1 Chocolate Ganache Tort like I was playing a perfect game of Tetris.
Live music was nice, service was great, the roaring fireplace gave a great atmosphere. All in all, really happy to have visited the Cottage.
Kid-friendliness: Kid-friendly menu with great options that are delicious for adults as well (i.e. if you kid doesn't finish their plate, their loss is your gain.)

My friend and I stopped by for a spontaneous dinner date the other night and absolutely loved everything about the experience! The staff all seemed like very bright people, they were extremely welcoming. We were checked on frequently and given every opportunity to ask questions and order more food. The food itself was delicious, we both enjoyed the food a great amount. I think they do a wonderful job portioning per person. The atmosphere was very cozy; it was perfect for a rainy autumn evening. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a cozy evening out!
The one thing I do wish is for them to add pictures of all the dishes to their menu.. for us visual processors it would be very helpful, and seeing as the menu is online I don’t see why there wouldn’t be pictures of the food listed.

Finally got out for a dinner date without the kiddo and The Cottage was an excellent choice.
Food was on point, drinks were excellent and the bartenders always deserve a shout when they're willing to get creative with drinks
