We stopped in for lunch at The Curious Chef in Burlington, WA, and had an absolutely fantastic experience.
I ordered the corned beef hash with fresh fruit and sourdough toast, and I can honestly say it was the best hash I’ve ever had. The corned beef was tender and perfectly seasoned, the potatoes had just the right crisp, and every bite was packed with flavor. The fresh fruit was a standout on its own—ripe, vibrant, and clearly chosen with care. Even the sourdough toast was perfection: warm, golden, and just the right amount of tang.
My dining companion had the avocado burger and fries, which arrived looking like it had come straight from a professional photo shoot. It was just as delicious as it looked, and I tried a few of the fries—crispy, golden, and completely addictive.
The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. The Curious Chef is a true gem in Burlington. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!
Very good breakfast nice waitress
Senior prices
Location wise, the restaurant is in a good area. Even though, unfortunately, several of the other storefronts in the outlet mall are empty.
The restaurant itself is relatively small. But the location isn’t too bad. However, if you or someone you are with is wheelchair bound, you might have a tiny bit of difficulty. They of course, will do everything in their power to accommodate you, but it might take a little bit of wiggling to do so.
The food is excellent. The menu is varied and has a number of options for various lifestyle or dietary needs. And the staff are diligent. All in all four out of five.
PS highly recommend the eggs Benedict
The service and atmosphere were great. The food is your typical diner stuff. Good for a fill-up if you are hungry.
Great breakfast diner, eggs Benedict especially good 👍
Great place for an after Church breakfast! I have also been here for lunch and the fare is as diverse as it is fairly priced. Portions are generous and a to go box is always supported.
Curious Chef my behind. Just another boring American food joint like Farmer’s Cafe in Stanwood. Nothing curious or chef here, more like the Blase Sleeping Cook.
This is a local place, like a diner. It's comfortable and the service is good in a casual way. The food is not fancy, but very good and most things made there. Breakfast and sandwiches are particularly yummy.
Wonderful place. Old diner vibe. Excellent food!
Portions were small, charged $1.50 per sauce for tarter, we were told their prices just went up. For the portions it was not worth it. $20 per plate and sauces not included. Not coming back.

The staff is friendly. My coffee mug is always full. The food is absolutely delicious! Try the Country Fried Steak or the Mexican Omelet, you won't regret it!

This is a great little cafe in an old mostly deaf strip mall. The menu is great, the food delicious and the service is fantastic. They give a 10% senior discount so the place is full of 'gray hairs'.

Good food in an out of the way place.
The mall used to be packed with vendors, but like most malls, not many left. That allows for ample easy parking to enjoy a good meal.
Delicious omelettes and hashbrowns!! Fast and kind service, good atmosphere :)
