My review for this small business. I recently moved to this town and am just getting out to explore what this city has to offer. And, yes, there are some very nice, delicious, and genuinely friendly places to go. I can name a few, but I have already rated them with more stars than they can offer on Google. We came here after a late night of fun, and it was very slow at this establishment, but that wasn't the issue. The issue that needs to be addressed is the staff. A young female waited on us, and with her service, comments, and unfriendly attitude, I will say this is the worst bar in the city. Moving here from a bigger city and living in bigger cities, the migration of prospective homeowners with income to put into this community, we should at least have quality individuals who do a service and perhaps like what they do? If not, there are plenty of people who would love to make additional income. But, on a positive note, check out the bar next to it for food, drink, service, and class. Thank you Gene's for enlightening me to find another place to spend money and contribute to this beautiful historic town.

The bouncer was a complete douche for no reason, went there to get my daughter her first legal drink at midnight, and he wouldn't serve us. Had a fairly nice group. Missed out on a ton of revenue. And any future business!

Austin was a great bartender! We loved this bar by the RR tracks where freight trains would scream by. There's a nice spot out back by the tracks with a concrete slab you can rest on while you puff if you imbibe. We are shuffleboard aficionados and enjoyed the long table. The table needs some TLC, but most people wouldn't notice. Two level pool tables with good queues.

Cool spot to watch the game, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the food is great.Tacos are big and tasty, and burgers have good meat with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, etc.

My man went out the other night to this bar and was attack by a guy whose always at this bar as the bartender and bouncer both stated, all for asking if that guy was okay because he fell and hit his head on the door. He punched my man three times in the face for no reason other than the guy being asked if he was good. The bouncer kicked my man out for hitting him back after the man hit him while he was still sitting at his table. The man was over served and was continued to be served after my man was kicked out because we sat and waited for him to be kicked out so we could call the cops and let them know he was over served. We will be reaching out the the liquor department and talking to them because all because he’s a good guy and is always there doesn’t give any bartender the right to continue to serve someone whose clearly not okay anymore.

This bar is the absolute best bar in Burlington! The service here is phenomenal. Recommend getting the wings on the menu, they are the bomb! Bethany behind the bar is an absolute magician when it comes to pouring drinks. She'll always greet you with a smile and cracks some good jokes. Ask for a touchdown and it won't disappoint. Nothing but good things to say about this place.

I have been driving around Genes to get to the TW for years. After a day of business in town, I just felt like a quiet beer... TW was buzzing Genes looked quiet. I stopped int Genes and AAAAAHHHH, late afternoon mid week. Just a few souls and at least one IPA on tap. I like the traditional Bar set up right down to the chrome/ nagahide stools and the shuffleboard. Of course, the term Dive Bar is used anymore as a complement and I'll add it as my fave Dive in Burlington. The bartender was cool and the rest of the folks were enjoying a chill afternoon easy quite beer experience. I'm not fooled, I'm sure it's bellowing with noise on every Friday night!
