Bert was our server and he did a phenomenal job. Great food.

Roots has a fantastic seasonal menu and everything we had was outstanding! Portions are large and you won't leave hungry.Bert is hands down the best bartender in town...very attentive and personable while serving up yummy drinks!

Very good food and atmosphere but it would be great if they could change their menu occasionally. The prices are very high also.

Our favorite place in the greater Portland area! Food is always great, no matter what we order. If I'm going to have someone else cook for me, it's got to be a cut above. If you want quality, expect to pay more than you would at fast food places. If we want to keep better restaurants around, we need to support them!

Poor service, food was fair quality. We got the flat bread that seemed like it had been microwaved and then had lettuce placed on top. The pasta dishes we ordered were over $40 for slightly elevated Mac and cheese. Way overpriced for what you get. It's too bad because this side of the river needs better restaurants.

Food was just OK, staff and service excellent. I had the short ribs I found them bland. The dungeness avocado appetizer was excellent. Nice restaurant I just expected better flavor from my meal. Prices are up there as well.

Excellent service, absurdly high corkage fee and cocktail price. Really good food. Too bad they're so proud of themselves that they think they can charge whatever they want. Will not be back there for dinner.

From start to finish, this was an exceptional dining experience. The ambience struck the perfect balance of upscale and inviting, making it ideal for celebrating a special occasion. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor, showcasing the care and creativity of the kitchen. Our server was outstanding—attentive without being intrusive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. I especially appreciated how they highlighted the ingredients sourced from local farms, which added an extra layer of connection to the meal. Yes, it's on the pricier side, but worth every penny for the quality of food, service, and atmosphere. We left feeling completely satisfied and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend!

Great food, especially brunch/lunch menu on Saturday and Sundays. Benedict’s are delicious, Beignets with toffee drizzle are so good!

Had reservations and were quickly seated. Wait staff allowed time for our group to get settled, since we were seeing family visiting from out of town. Tomato soup and chicken liver mousse were excellent, and entrees were fabulous: pork chop succulent and perfectly seasoned, salmon and halibut entrees were moist and seared off well, with tasty sides of corn and potatoes. Two Crab cakes served as an entree were on point, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Great spot for entertaining guests or when you want a special treat. Appreciate the consistency in food quality. Pricey but well worth it.

We experienced a delay in service, and unfortunately, our food was overcooked. The price of the avocado and crab appetizer seemed unjustified. The server initially overlooked us but eventually recognized our presence and attended to us. Given our experience, I would advise against dining here and recommend alternatives that provide a more satisfying experience.
