I stopped in for a late lunch after my ferry ride to Stehekin and had a good experience with food and service.
It was a little busy and I wanted to order tamales, but they were out.
I reviewed the menu and ordered the Chicken Mole Oaxaqueno with rice, beans. and a virgin Pina Colda.
The menu features food from Oaxaca in Southern Mexico with soups, enchiladas, chicken, beef, pork, and much more.
I listened to the Mexican music and ate the chips with salsa and beans.
The chicken had a nice taste with black mole sauce.
The rice was moist, and the beans nice a nice taste to them.
You will also find daily lunch specials, a kids menu, and a few desserts .
Located on East Johnson Avenue in Chelan and next to City Hall.
A nice place to eat with friendly service, a menu with a number of options, and a fun family environment.

I had the Oaxacan tamales in the plantain leaves, they were terrible the masa had absolutely no flavor! Service was ok but we had to ask for water refill.

First time here as visitors to Chelan. We we instantly greeted & seated. Chips, great salsa & bean dip arrived right away. I have a fab Cadillac margarita & hubby found a good beer. We split the enchiladas salsa verda (plenty for the both of us) They were delicious, the verda sauce was very present, the rice & beans delicious. It's a must visit!

Horrible experience at la Fonda , we are locals and have gone there several times. Today we went in (google says they close at 9) we arrived about 7:20 and the lady was super rude when she greeted us she said “how many” with attitude didn’t even say hello or welcome. Then she serves our chips and proceeds to ask what we are ordering like 2 minutes later. We asked very politely for a few more minutes and she responds well kitchen closes at 8 so I will give you 2 minutes. Then she walks over t where the till is and is blankly staring at us (very uncomfortable) and then her co worker walks out and she huffs and puffs and says “ ughhhhhh I wanna leave” out loud. We politely asked to pay for the chips and bean dip we got and left. Marcela’s has great customer service and is open later with nice smiley faces who greet ! We will never come here again.

Great ambient, not too Loud, enjoyable, sports TV on, Molcajete 10/10, horchata, agua de Jamaica, baby friendly, forgot my $200 sunglasses, came back 20 min later and waiters handed them over right away, great attitude, love it!
