Great small operation and experience. Be prepared to spend an hour plus here, but it’s worth it. Learn some history and science behind whiskey and the distilling process. Sample everything and then try your hand at an “operation” style game after. Mulligan XXX Irish Whiskey was my favorite. Kathy is very knowledgeable and the oldest female distiller in the US!
Such a wonderful surprise today when my son and I made an impromptu stop at Cultus Bay Distillery.
We came over to the island from Mukilteo just to check out the end of Whidbey we can see across the water from our home. When looking at maps I could see there was a distillery in the area we wanted to drive around.

I was first introduced to this craft distillery by a friend. Mortal Gin really got my attention. My wife and I traveled to the island and made sure to include a visit. It was the highlight of our tour. I was honored to sample their first inroad into a single malt Scotch. Finally released, I am sitting here enjoying their EFD81 cask and it was worth the wait. I highly recommend if you visit Whidbey Island stop by and see Cathy you won't be disappointed.
