I brought my family to the distillery, and words truly can’t capture how wonderful this visit was. Don’t hesitate for a second—we highly recommend it! We had an amazing time from start to finish.
Kathy is an absolute gem. We loved her stories, her kindness, and the generous amount of time she spent with us. Hearing about the distilling process through her passionate storytelling was such a pleasure that we ended up spending two hours with her without even realizing how quickly the time flew by.
Our favorites were the vodka, the brandy, and the coffee-chocolate liqueur. The whiskey paired with her vanilla ice cream was absolutely delicious. As a bonus, we even spotted two sea lions through the windows during our visit!
We left with a couple of bottles and will definitely be coming back.

Kathy took the time to explain her process and all of her products. Honestly I cannot give her and Cutlus Bay enough stars. We've been traveling for 7 days at this point, and what she gave us was one of the best experiences of the trip. I highly recommend checking it out and supporting a local business. 5 stars all the way! We happened to be staying at a rental next door, saw the sign and were warmly invited for a tasting. Kathy is a wonderful host and distiller. She gave us a full tour of her shop and a proper tasting. We left with a couple bottles and big smiles. Highly recommend!

Great small operation and experience. Be prepared to spend an hour plus here, but it’s worth it. Learn some history and science behind whiskey and the distilling process. Sample everything and then try your hand at an “operation” style game after. Mulligan XXX Irish Whiskey was my favorite. Kathy is very knowledgeable and the oldest female distiller in the US!

Visiting this distillery was a wonderful experience. Be aware that you enter via a residential house. The owner, Kathy, gives a great tour and explains the distilling process. She's a very fun and knowledgeable host and shared fascinating stories with us. We enjoyed the gin, whiskey, and vodka we tried. My wife liked the vodka the best, while I enjoyed the gin the most. It was a great experience, which I'd recommend to anyone visiting Whidbey Island.

My wife and I had a delightful time with Kathy at Cultus Bay Distillery. A random recommendation at the Bayview Farmer's Market led to us driving there and calling Kathy outside of her house. She was gracious and generous with her time, and it was wonderful to hear her story and even better to try her delicious vodka, whiskeys, and gin. This was definitely the highlight of our trip to Whidbey this weekend!

My boyfriend and I had such a great time meeting Kathy and learning about her operation! We were on our way back to the ferry but wanted one more fun experience on the island. I gave Kathy a quick call first to make sure we could come by, she enthusiastically told us to come on down! We got a tour of the small facility, got to ask questions, and received a taste of all of the current offerings. We even got a taste of her daughter’s homemade ice cream paired with whiskey, delicious! I wasn’t expecting to learn much since we’ve been on several distillery tours but I was blown away by Kathy’s knowledge and experience! She was so sweet and thoughtful, this was the perfect sendoff before heading back to the city!
