Prepare to wait 45min if place is empty or 1hr 1/2 hours if semi busy JUST for them to start cooking...wont seat you until full party is there; food was decent but expensive...its one of those kinds of places I wont go back on purpose, only if someone wants to

It was our first time and we were underwhelmed by the chef experience. We've heard how they are flipping shrimp for your to catch which are kids were very excited about. It was our son's birthday and he was looking forward to the interactive, entertaining experience. It was disappointing in that area. The food was great though!

Walter was our chef, and he was incredible! My 13 year old was smiling the entire dinner. I had a wonderful time. Ask for Walter when you go.

We went here expecting a good dinner with entertainment for the kids. Arrived at 5:20 and was told we would have to wait until 6pm because they were short cooks. After waiting 20 minutes we were sat at the sushi table. Table was dirty. I had to ask for EVERYTHING… clean table, drinks, plates, boxes, chopsticks, and even the check! What should have been a 30-45min dinner turned out to be a 2 hour long drag. The food was flavorless. The fried rice was so hard I couldn’t eat it. I asked to speak to a manager and was told they didn’t have one! Madness. I do not recommend for the amount you pay versus the quality/service you will receive.

Fast service and fun. The men who perform the stir fry are all very good and quite entertaining. They engage the customers at there station often causing laughter. This is a family friendly eatery serving lots of large birthday groups (with children) and other celebrations. A single diner can be seated at a table with multiple families and feel welcome.

If you want carry out order Door Dash because Mizu Covington gives them top priority over dine in customers. We had a (large) party of 13 guests with reservations for a special event. As soon as we were seated I told the server that I needed two (2) orders to go. her response was that they would take care of that at the end. After our dinner service the server was nowhere around for our "to go" food orders. I went to the bar and explained the situation to the manager and he placed an order for our food. Mgr. Tyler kept assuring me ours was the next order, not so, three times! He offered an appetizer for our wait... after dinner, SERIOUSLY. 45 minutes later I told him it was not OK and I was really unhappy with the service... while the rest of my party waited for me in the parking lot. A refund was issued. They took really poor service to a new extreme. I WILL NEVER RETURN and I will certainly discourage anyone else from patronizing Mizu Japanese Steakhouse!

Wait staff was worthless as we had to go find someone to give us water.

Terrible service, no greeter was at the door upon arrival and didn't come to greet my party for a full 10 minutes.Upon walking in door the first thing we saw was a table full of dirty dishes and once again no one showed up to clean table for over 10 minutes. Lastly there was one chef in the building, so the wait was long. Overall this restaurant was severely under staffed. However they are charging a price that should command a full restaurant experience. My family will not return to this restaurant.

My family and I have given this place the benefit of doubt however our last visit was the last straw. 1st...at the start of the pandemic, they charged full price for carryout however but no salad or soup. This stopped us from ordering take-out from them. 2nd...when they did open back up, it was an hour and a half before they closed and the hostess locked the door as we were walking up. Not even acknowledging us. 3rd...we reserved seating for 3 however the hostess only showed 2 and proceeded to scolded us to call the restaurant instead of reserving on the app next time. When we were seated, the entire area was filthy. The gridle was covered in residue and food particles (some of which was caked on from past poor cleanings). The floor was covered in food particles and the hood was dirty as well. When the hostess came to the table, first thing out of he mouth was "I am not your server but..." and never introduced herself however she did take our drink orders and asked about appetizers. She was not personable at all. She brought out the soup and it was like water with oil...no flavor. We added soy sauce to give it taste. After sitting there with soup only (no salad yet), we decided to go to Sapporo's at University Place and had a great experience (as always). Eventhough Mizu is only 5 miles from our home, we gladly will make the 32 mile drive to Sapporo.

Ordered dragon roll and baked fish roll both were cold.Ordered spring rolls, was cold, dry and overcooked.Ordered battered shrimp, was cold, dry and chewy obviously way overcooked.Ordered wontons, was cold, dry and hard to chew. I’ve made wontons before so I know these were very bad.We will never order anything from this place again. I sat and waited for 30 extra minutes while the hostess told me my order wasn’t ready yet. This place used to be good now it’s not. I paid over $80 for a bad meal ended up throwing it in the trash.

I have been to Mizu's prior to this last occasion. I brought friends who have never been to that style or Steakhouse and was disappointed that the Chef did not converse with us unless we asked a question. Part of the fun is the interchange between the Chef and his customers . Silent the whole time. I have been before and the Chef was laughing, talked to us while cooking and made us laugh. The food was prepared okay but the fried rice was not completely done and he was flipping it all over the counter and us. What a mess. It was not meant to be part of his cooking but a mistake. I will come back but my guest were very disappointed as I.
