So yummy! All the food tasted so fresh and delicious! The rolls are really large too. I tried the Volcano and the Trump rolls. I also tried the teriyaki salmon and miso soup! The staff was friendly and outgoing. I also heard that they have all you can eat Rolls made fresh for you but you have to sit up at the bar. The bar area was small so you may have to wait a little bit, but definitely worth it! I will absolutely be back again!

Definitely avoid on a Friday night! Knowing that wait times for takeout can be extended on a Friday, we made our order from home expecting to wait. Although the confirmation email quoted 35 mins, we showed up 45 mins after ordering. One hostess looked around for our order, went to the kitchen to check and said it would be 7 minutes. 30 minutes later (and an hour after our order was placed) we still didn’t have our food. The second hostess, Joey, worked really hard to help us but couldn’t go back and make the food so I just had to wait. She offered a beverage while we waited. I asked to speak to a manager who proceeded to wait over 15 minutes before coming to talk to me and then said she had no control over the kitchen. She did provide me a discount but couldn’t really explain what was wrong. And also indicated the kitchen manager was unavailable to talk as he was working too. I felt so bad for the hostesses who were doing their best. Other people kept coming in and picking up orders but for some reason ours still weren’t ready. After nearly an hour and a half from ordering, we were finally given our order. Got home and found out a Magnificent roll was missing. The food is so good but they need better estimates on wait times, better order checking and more chefs on a busy night! And managers need to be able to handle the difficult conversations with frustrated customers, don’t throw each other under the bus and take care of your hosting/wait staff.

AAABSOLUTELY NOT!! Online was pretty deceiving. I dont know if they were having a bad night or what??!! It does not excuse poor service. I would never give another cent to this restaurant. It was unclean, dirty towels where they give to go orders. Skimpy on portions. 1 hour wait for a togo order. When I spoke to the manager, she tried to make it right but that looked likes scraps. Let the photos speak for them selves.... Trappers, yall need to make this right by your customers, or shut down. This should never be acceptable.

UPDATE: manager left me a number to call him. I did that and left a voicemail and never heard back. Hmm. Was hoping for better and that has now been months since I tried to make contact.

First time at that Trappers location in Covington. They were out of several nigiri items. The flying fish row was ice cold, literally had ice in it. Very unpleasant served that way as nigiri. The atmosphere was very different than my local Trappers. The addition of the small bar they have makes it an awkward space. Too crowded. Service was friendly though. There were children about 2-3 years old sitting at the sushi bar in their own seats and not having sushi. Friend and I had to wait 45 minutes for those people to leave so we could sit at sushi the sushi bar for all you can eat dinner (only available if sitting at sushi bar).

First time visiting and was refused seating by rude employees. Disappointed that I was unable to try the food.

We ordered 2 catering platters ($300) for a pre Christmas event. We weren't able to order online so I called in. They told us we couldn't order over the phone so we went in. They told us we couldn't order in the store and needed to order online. We told them the order wouldn't process and the manager agreed for them to take the order there. It took them about 4 minutes. Why all the roadblocks when it was so easy? Went to pick up our order 5 days later and it wasn't ready. Got it home, no wasabi and no ginger. Called and asked if someone could deliver it to us (less than 2 miles away) and was put on hold for the manager. 10 minutes later, still on hold. I gave up.

After leaving frustrated last night because the food took an hour before they even started preparing it so we left before we even got food. Came in today because I was really craving sushii the staff and service really made up for last night. Our server remembered what my girlfriend ordered last night, the gluten free chicken teriyaki, even though she didnt order the chicken again today our server still brought it out and said it was on her to make up for last night. So thank you everyone at trappers for spoiling us, happy we cane back!

Went to the Covington location and unfortunately the food wasnt great. The roll fell apart and had to use my spoon from my miso soup, which was lukewarm. We also got our food after waiting 30 minutes.

Hadn’t been here in a few weeks. Went for happy hour. They no longer do the 3 rolls for $30. They do 2 rolls and an app now and the rolls have to be from a small selection. This is not why I’m writing this review though. The reason I’m writing this review is because the rolls are now little tiny pieces. And some hardly have anything in the middle. Not worth the price and not near as much food. Prices went up and portions have gotten way smaller. Won’t be back.

This place has a serious and ongoing problem with extreme wait times. Orders routinely take over an hour to be prepared, and it isn’t a rare incident — it’s a consistent pattern.

Customers waiting for pickup sit for 60–90 minutes. New orders are constantly accepted, even when the kitchen is clearly unable to handle the volume. Staff repeatedly gives inaccurate time estimates (“5–10 more minutes”), but the actual wait ends up being an hour or more.

The restaurant is visibly understaffed during peak hours, yet management does nothing to adjust, hire more people, or limit orders. The result is complete chaos:
— the kitchen is overwhelmed,
— orders pile up endlessly,
— people waste their time with no clear information,
— the staff can only say “there’s a long queue, you just have to wait.”

This is not acceptable for any restaurant. If you know you can’t handle the volume, be honest about wait times or stop taking more orders. The way this place operates shows a lack of organization, planning, and respect for customers’ time.
