The Tav is an Ellensburg institution that doesn't seem to have changed in the almost 20 years I've been coming here. The food is good but nothing special with the Supermother being a highlight. The beer and drink selection is good but definitely very small town college bar. The best part of this place is the fact that it's a welcoming small town institution that remains a constant in a changing world. Worth a stop if you are in town.

We had the special of chicken fried steak with sausage gravy and garlic mashed potatoes. Unless you're a competition eater DO NOT GET a large the next time they have it. It was extremely good. Even is i don't agree with the sausage gravy on anything but biscuits and hasbrowns :) Service was quick and friendly. This was our second time here and it was just as good the first time. We were hungry and did not take pictures. :(

Liam was a very attentive server throughout and took us to a small room to watch the Seahawks game and then continuously checked to see if we needed anything. Other servers also checked in. Reuben was excellent with lots of condiments. Great place to relax and eat. Good coffee, also.

Food is great, drinks are strong...UPDATE lol today ol' google asked if it HAD CHANGED. Nah maybe some of the people who work there, but the food and drink are the same. As for the atmosphere; well, I suppose if it changed folks would quit going and that's certainly not the case. So go to the Tav have a super mother and be nice to the door man.
