I came in today my first time, for the buffet brunch & everything was so delicious!! I only snapped one photo of the waffles. The puff pastry with lox & cream cheese, was amazing!! Definitely will be coming back to try dinner sometime 🙂
Great as always
John is the best cook!!
We ordered two steak burgers to go one medium one medium rare. We were told they would be ready in 20 minutes. My wife waited 30 minutes after the 20 minutes. The burgers both well done and cold the buns were soggy, the lettuce wilted, the fries barely cooked. For twenty bucks you could do better.
The service was warm and thoughtfully attentive—our server had a natural charm that made the experience feel personal and relaxed. The steak was enjoyable, and the martinis were crafted to my taste, adding a bespoke touch to the night
Historical Restaurant! TRUE steak house! Aged meats and cooked to order correctly and to perfection! Order came out right and in order so you can finish each course! They still cook the steak in the big window so you can watch them fire the steak awesome. Drinks are perfectly mixed and great suggestions. Only kind of uncomfortable environment would be the music coming out of the back, which if you are in the back i imagine it doesn't matter, not to loud, but echoing out when we're trying to enjoy our meal was a little annoying. A younger bar waitress came and looked at us.(A hostess was there. She did nothing)They could obviously see it was annoying but did nothing. Then our great waitress, which was obviously having to work bar and our table noticed and went and turned it down. In the end, the food perfection and our waitress really made it a good night!
We spent over 200$ on dinner rap music wasn't part of the plan 😂 😆 whoop whoop 🙌 👏 🤣😹
Excellent dinner and superb German chocolate cake to finish the night with. Great customer service as well.
Ordered a steak, medium rare - it was medium well and dry. My German potatoes were luke warm, so half way thru my dinner, they were cold. Maybe that's because it took an HOUR for my meal to be served. Worse part, it wasn't a busy weekend - it was a slow Wednesday. Now I happen to know that the owner is going to respond to this review telling me that I wrong for not bringing this to the attention of my server. So here's my response to the owner - this is not the only negative review, there are many negative reviews that are saying the same thing. So if you haven't bothered to correct and improve those areas, then me telling my server will have zero impact.
Their food is great, and the service was very friendly.
Great schnitzel!

Our 1st time experience at Herb Niemann's in Ferndale!
---Fabulous resto to enjoy a great German dinner! Wonderful service, lovely background classical music 🎶 & charming ambiance! This quiet resto has it all!
Thank you!
Chelsea brilliantly helped our party of 12 on a Saturday night. Great onion soup too. Photo is the mixed grill. Come hungry
Good atmosphere with option to sit on the friendly local bar side of of the resturant, or on the classy date / family gathering side.
Great menu, everything i've had is quite possibly the best quality food you can get short of grandmas cooking. Ive got a big appitite and this is the only place ive left with leftovers.
Service is great, a refreshing reprieve from typical rude resturant / bar staff. You can tell owner is present and attentive and that they have a staff happy to be here and do their jobs.
One of the best resturants in the area and Best American style food hands down.
This is a spot where we used to eat often so we’re excited to go again we were SO disappointed tonight! We ordered the Weiner Schnitzel, which is the same thing I had always ordered in the past. We wondered why the meat didn’t taste the same and the texture was weird. When I got home and has light to see, I opened the leftover box to investigate I pulled off the substantial breading. The “veal” was a disgusting piece of processed “chunked and formed” meat! It looked as if it were pre seasoned as well. No wonder it tasted so strange! The potatoes were overcooked and mushy and the Brussels weren’t great either. We usually love the red cabbage,, it too was overcooked annd really sweet All in all an extremely disappointing experience. It has changed hands and the quality has gone down,we will not be back.
Filling and great company
