The Madigan Fort Lewis Cafeteria needs a bit of improving their cashier's. I budgeted $10 in my back account for breakfast and they charged me 89.15. I asked them to have the corrections hit my account today or it would cost me even more in NSF fees. They told me yes but then when the receipt was signed by me for the fix she told me 2 to 3 business days would reflect the change. What can you do when you work for the Madigan hospital to begun with.

Frequently when I come in to shop I am given a paper receipt even though I specifically ask for an electronic receipt. Much of the time I am not even afforded the opportunity to even push the button to allow the Point of Sale system to generate an electronic receipt. Many of the clerks brush it off and treat the request with indifference. This has been an ongoing problem for a long time. Absent this, I have no grievance with the store nor the way it is run.

This review is about the Madigan Army Medical Center Shopette at the Madigan Annex. Melody Hall and Toby (Last name unknown) are always friendly and knowledgeable and are good advocates for the customers, always striving to get requested items in stock for those who work and train at the annex. We at the annex, who sometimes feel like step children, feel we’ve got somebody taking care of us in Melody and Toby. High marks to them for solidly serving the disenfranchised here.

How do I express my disgust? Today was my first time in the Madigan food court. Why was I there? I had to wait an hour to get my medical service... Which was great. Alas, I was hungry so I searched for food. Options: Einstein Bagels (no, had a bagel for breakfast), Subway (never eat that stuff now) and Teriyaki /Sushi stand... Normally avoid the evil carbs but I let myself be tempted by Chicken Katsu. GIANT MISTAKE! Under normal circumstances chicken Katsu is awesome deep fried chicken over rice. I watched as the server pulled a pre-cooked chicken patty out of a bin and placed it inside of the MICROWAVE... the meat was processed chicken patty... The cost? $9.00 plus tax. They probably buy them cheap at the commissary. A plate must cost them a whole $1.00....they shouldn't be allowed to operate there. Next complaint is to the base.

2 stars is all about the price. As a consumer, I am a bit miffed at having paid $4.69 for a slice of pizza that wasn't all that loaded with veggies to warrant 4 dollars plus. The sushi is undersized in my opinion, and JC, 8 dollars for an effin sub? No way.

Getting better!! For a food court, it's actually not bad. It's no longer just a pizza place. It's been recently renovated and now has a Subway along with a Koibito's Teriyaki and Sushi restaurant! The Subway is nice and the sushi is great! Only cons: can have long lines especially during lunch and the sushi is just a bit pricey.
