It's really all about the pie. The cafe is located inside the Greenbank farm and has a very cutesy, rustic ambience. The place is mostly self-service; you place the order, collect your cutlery, and also dispose of your plates yourself. Only the food is served to your table. The savoury items are so-so and can be bland. But the sweet pies are out of this world, and especially amazing to try with ice cream. The top recommendation is the Marionberry pie.
The only off thing was that we were asked to tip while ordering the food, so it was like tipping for service we hadn't even received yet.

Growing up on the island, I have tons of wonderful memories, including great times at the Greenbank Farms. On this latest trip back, of course I had to show off this landmark. Before we hit the road, we decided to grab a slice of pie and some beverages.
My glowing remarks about the a farm definitely took a knock. The staff was dismissive bordering on condescending when we ordered. I smiled and paid, we found a seat, and waited for our drinks and pie. Unfortunately, they treated every customer in line the same way. Chatting with one another was far more important than helping anyone.
In my experience, small businesses usually go one of two ways: very customer focused and accommodating; or treating customers like they are lucky to be there and dismissing them.
Honestly, I'm just sad to see that the Farm is like this now. Likely my last stop-in, let alone recommendation to anyone visiting Whidbey.
At least the pie was good!

Very limited (4) options on the lunch menu. Food was ok but small portions and over priced

I would have liked to have eaten here, however I did not. Sign states "Seat yourself", so I did about 12:50 on a Friday. There were quite a few open tables inside. Both servers brought water, a lemonade to tables next to me and went back to the counter. After about 8 minutes I went to the counter and got a menu, sat down and looked at the entire menu. Still no one came to my table. I left without being waited on after ten minutes. I'm sure their intent is to have better customer service for the prices they're charging.

The chicken pot pie was a disappointment it was a slice of a large pie, not a single pot pie as expected, very little chicken mostly potatoes, very little flavor, but the very berry pie was great.

Beautiful place with outside seating. Apple Cake with vanilla ice cream is the best I ever had. Cherry cake really good too. Very tasty coffee. Will come back.

We stopped in for pie and, after seeing the menu, we wished we had eaten lunch there, too. But the pie was great......we hope to get back for a meal.

It's important to note that they only serve pie and coffee on Mondays and Tuesdays. However, both are absolutely delicious and still worth it to stop. What a quaint little place!

We bought some delicious Beef Pie and Strawberry Rhubarb Pie here on our way to Deception Pass. They packed the pies super well for us, and both pies turned out perfect! Really love the pies here!

I am a local and finally just made it up to the new, Old Spots bistro… Many will know the location at the Greenbank farm, where Whidbey Pies Cafe used to be… Surrounded by amazing master gardeners, with indoor and outdoor seating, so we had her with us… The menu was original and delightful, the fish at sell fish soup it’s fabulous as was the Gruyère grilled cheese sandwich with home cured ham… Even for dessert, the dart cherry chocolate chip cookie was delightful. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend it place to visit. If you haven’t been there yet… still carry the delicious Whidbey pies there…
