If I could choose zero stars I would. Soda tasted like carbonated water after we asked 3 different times for a soda. Food tasted terrible no flavor. Brownie came with a hair in it. Left very unsatisfied and didn’t eat anything on our plates. Do not recommend will not be returning. Tasted and looked like prison food.

Met the owners - great couple. They couldn’t have been nicer. It’s a place you would miss if you drive by the main road in hoquiam. It is only 1 block away from that road. I highly recommend this place. We were very happy we went!

Tried Grill Sergeant for dinner tonight. It was great. Granted the exterior is not fancy at all but once in the door you'll be met with the great aroma of bbq, and the welcoming, friendly owners. Very casual atmosphere. Meats and a tasty variety of side dishes. Even some options for vegetarians/vegans. Generous portion sizes. Reasonable prices for what you get. Several tasty made-on-site sauces. We enjoyed the brisket, ribs and some sides. Delicious. Especially liked the Whiskey Peach and Garlic Aioli sauces. Highly recommend you try the Grill Sergeant. We'll be back!

Passing through Hoquiam. Wanted to grab a bite. Despite the horrible exterior and greasy spoon basement mashup interior I gave The Grill Sgt a shot. The BBQ Brisket was EXTREMELY good. Homemade BBQ sauces were EXTREMELY GOOD.. Owners and service EXTREMELY friendly. Just goes to prove once again, you can't judge a book by it's cover. Great food, great service. 4 stars because portions were a bit small, exterior and interior way overdue for a facelift. Then an extra star because the owners are military Vets. So right back to 5 stars.

Very friendly! Fantastic brisket! BBQ sauces were awesome!! Hush puppies and tater tots were a great addition to my meal. Just don't order to much as the portions are very generous!! I'll be going back!!
