Wonderful experience. We were there for a birthday and the food, service, and small, intimate and welcoming staff made for a very special evening.
We had a fabulous dinner at Montalcino! The appetizers and entrees were delicious and perfectly prepared. The owner, Rick, visited every table and was the most personable owner we have ever met. If we lived near Issaquah, we would dine there on a regular basis. Sadly, we live in Hilton Head, SC... Tick, please open Montalcino East soon!
I went for a birthday dinner and was very pleased with everything. I had a smoked salmon pasta, which was amazing, and some tiramisu for a dessert. Wine was excellent, and the overall experience was delightful.
The food was excellent and the service was attentive and friendly. Everyone made sure we were comfortable and enjoying the meal. Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend for an intimate dinner.
Wonderful dinner! We had family in from California and it was the perfect way to conclude their visit. We all had something different and each dish was great...chicken, halibut, pasta, risotto - all yummy. Rick's pick on the Super Tuscan wine was a winner too.
A favorite location for special dinner out! This event was a farewell to friends moving away,
Luis was outstanding. The food was outstanding. This is the best Italian food in Washington. Period.
We had dinner here last night for the first time, after hearing friends talk about how good it is. We went there with two other couples for a birthday dinner - first time for all of us - and it did not disappoint! Delicious food, and we loved having a special little area off to the side for our group. Prices aren't inexpensive, but if you save this for a special night out it's a great experience!
Love the small, intimate venue. I always order the sacchetti al cinghiale (sp?) which never disappoints.
There to celebrate our 51st Wedding Anniversary before going to Village Theatre to see The Color Purple. Montalcino's remains our favorite restaurant in the Northwest!

Outstanding all around dining experience. Quaint and personal - not a large group place. But a new go to for special dining experience.
We have not been to this restaurant since the new owners took over operations. To our surprise, the menu seemed like it did not change. All of the dishes looked very familiar. The difference, though, is that dished that we once enjoyed now seem to have a heavy-handed amount of creamy sauces, which makes them less appetizing. The flavors are good, but we both could not even make it through a quarter or third of the portions. I would say that the food is only good, due to there not being anything offensive about it, but they should cut back on the cream and oil content. Go back? Probably not.
I've visited this charming little restaurant over the years, and every dish has left me impressed! The service and food consistently earn a 5-star rating, always tempting me to return for more. The ambiance is incredibly romantic, making each dining experience feel truly special. The food is always exceptional and never disappoints.
Food, service, and being seated outside.... All was wonderful. Loved watching the locals parade by. I look forward to being outside again, when the weather is warmer— it was a little chilly. Love to sit inside next time, with the added smells which I missed. Thank you for making us feel so special!!
If you want that experience of finding that wonderful Italian restaurant like you did on your first trip to Italy, Montalcino is your destination. Wonderful food, great wine offerings and attentive staff.
