This is a nice spot just down the street from where I'm staying in town. It's a chilly January and the beef phô definitely hit the spot for a warming meal. It wasn't as flavorful as other phô I've had, but it was reasonably priced and wasn't bad by any stretch. It was tasty and satisfying, just not special. I'd gladly go back, though.
A tip if you order to-go like I did: Check your bowl to make sure everything that's wrapped in plastic is out of the bowl. Extra beef and toppings come wrapped in plastic and sit on top of and underneath the bowl contents. I'm very glad I checked before pouring the broth!
The staff was friendly and was very helpful when we had questions about the menu.
We were surprised by how solid everything we ordered was, considering this place has a large Asian fusion menu. The buns were good and fluffy. The curry had good flavors. Although the portions could be a bit bigger.
The Vietnamese coffee is also good.
Overall, the food options here are all good and solid from this experience.

I normally have a great experience here, but I met some friends for dinner an hour and a 1/2 before the restaurant closed and was treated very rudely by the server. When we asked for more time before ordering he told us we needed to hurry up and had an accompanying hand motion with that statement which I thought was a little much since we still had an hour 15 minutes before closing. His body language and the way he took our menus and set down our dishes one could tell he was very ticked off. We finished eating and paid about 45 minutes before closing. We kept talking until 15 minutes before closing which at that point he told us “we are closed you need to leave now” and turned off the lights while we were still seated. I have never been treated that way at a restaurant and I understand (as someone who’s worked in the restaurant industry) that sometime you need to give people a gentle nudge to get going, but I felt like the way we were treated was completely unnecessary and just plain rude. Normally really enjoy eating here, but I’m hesitating to come back due to this experience.

This place has good food, sometimes the staff is a little impatient and can kind of seem rude but overall I enjoy coming.
My sister and I got the chicken pho for lunch and it was absolutely delicious! The broth was really clear and clean tasting with excellent flavor. Will definitely comeback the next time I’m in Issaquah!

Love this local place! This is the perfect spot to stop in after a long day on the trails. The pho always brings me back to life and is quickly becoming my go-to comfort food through the winter months.

Cafe Umi in Issaquah provides a lovely dining experience, marked by a beautiful setting and genuinely friendly service. The property is very clean and well-maintained, contributing to a welcoming and beautiful occasion. However, the food quality proved to be hit-or-miss, resulting in a solid, but well-deserved, three-star rating.
The menu item that truly shines and deserves all the praise is the Banh Mi sandwich. Specifically, the BBQ Pork Banh Mi was absolutely fantastic. The French bread was excellent, crusty on the outside and soft within. The fresh, crisp vegetables were fantastic, and the star of the show—the barbecue pork meat—was incredibly flavorful. This sandwich is a standout dish and a reason to visit the restaurant on its own.

Treated very rudely by the server. Thinking we are going to dine and dash. Don’t come here

Amazing food , one of best Vietnamese 😄
My Fiancé and I were on out way to Snoqualmie falls and googled a place to eat lunch, UMI Café was a short detour from the highway and an AMAZING choice!
Mii helped us, she was very sweet and helpful, the food was delicious and a great portion, I ate the Garlic Beef and my fiancé got the Umi Chicken, the food came fast and we got to enjoy from the patio outside! 10/10 recommend!!

I wish I could leave a positive review but I've never been treated with such disrespect from our server and treated like a criminal. We initially sat inside because the outdoor seating was taken. After we ordered a table opened up outside and we asked a different server if we could go outside and they said yes. Then when we walked to the tables outside our original waiter came running outside yelling at us that we needed to pay and was treating us as if we had already eaten and were dining and dashing. I've never been so embarrassed and he continued to treat us with disrespect even after coming back inside to pay.
There are plenty of other places to eat in Seattle, I wouldn't recommend choosing Umi over any other establishment unless you like being treated with disrespect.
