The food was delicious. The outside of the building looks atrocious and has made us avoid this place before, but we glad we stopped as food was tasty!

In a nutshell, Cap'n Yobys has become a disappointing reflection of the glory it used to hold. An outdated dining room with a dilapidated outside appearance does no favors to the overpriced, undersized portions sold by a staff who, aside from a rare fresh face, appears to be absolutely over working there.
I used to love this place, ate it all the time in my youth with my family, but the rising prices, dingy atmosphere, and cold service cannot be saved by the nostalgic taste from their unique batter anymore.

A local favorite. Look past the broken down building. It hides great food. And the starter sauce is to die for!

They seem to have changed the fry/burger sauce..... disappointing. Makes a big difference.
All batter no fish
Best fish and chips in the world! Nobody will ever convince me otherwise.
Amazing Halibut and Chips! I always stop there when driving through town!
Best fish and chips around. Just too many french fries!

Confusing Drive-Thru, no signage on-site where to go, LONG wait for a Fish & Chips and 1 Burger. WITH that all being said the burger was legit beef, not over sauced, and bun was toasted. I prefer more than 1 sauce so it needed ketchup to me...chef's choice. The Alaskan Cod was VERY plump, not even a thick batter which I felt was their way of showing they are proud of their whitefish & it was VERY good, seemed fresh, but mostly it's a LARGE portion. The tartar sauce was EXCELLENT, might need more lemon to me but...chef's choice. Fries were THICK even though they are krinkle kut...these are not cheapo fries. Overall the 4-piece Cod was a great value but I felt the burger was overpriced, maybe if it were bigger but 2 patties seemed not the same value as the fish. Overall worth the recommend & I was happy I stopped in. And yes Rebecca, I got a receipt!
Really good fish-n-chips.

I just wish the parking lot didn't look like Fallujah in 2001. Burgers are great. The lady who works there (taking orders) has some kind of attitude problem.

No complaints about an atmosphere of a drive-in/small diner, so I had nothing to complain about there. Always helpful people working there I’ve never had to wait unreasonably long. These are the best fish and chips I have ever eaten in my life and whenever I come to town, I have to get them! The tartar sauce is to die for and I think I’ve figured out their secret recipe!
