They are friendly and helpful.
It's close for me to stop by after work, so I find myself here a few times a week to pick up an item or two. The remodel was needed, but it's been poorly executed, with lackluster results. I honestly don't see much improvement. The produce department is small, un-attractive and under stocked, really not much about this store that entices you to want to shop here.
the self-checkout cashier with a ponytail is incredibly unprofessional. every single time I shop with him he has a snide comment about me wearing a mask. I have done his job for a long time and I would never think of being so rude to a customer. I will go out of my way to avoid shopping at this location because the staff are rude and discriminate against people who wear masks to protect themselves. management at this store have a serious problem on their hands with customer service standards.
NEVER have anything in stock! Jeez! I ordered from door dash and have had to replace/remove almost every freaking item!
Stop all the special pricing for card holders and such.

This Safeway has the friendliest employees and the store overall is pretty nice but I have to say the produce department and their wet rack is disgusting. Everything looks like it’s 10 years old.
I usually enjoy my shopping experience at the Kelso store but today I was shocked by the rude unhelpful checker maegan. She only talked to the person in back of me. When I asked her to not put my deli items on their sides she handed me a bag and said "we'll I guess you can just bag them yourself " and she never bagged another item, she didn't hand me my receipt in fact she didn't say another word to me. She continued to visit with the next customer who was a friend of he's. The worst checker ever.
Just go to the 15th Ave Safeway. Everything there is better.
Shelves have been mostly stocked where as Walmart and Winco have not been. However most of the employees aren't very friendly. A few are though. The short woman with very curly short hair who's worked there forever is extremely rude. Produce has a nice selection. Prices aren't great but at least it pays with gas rewards.
Update- the remodel is really bringing the store up to date. The short curly hair woman is in the bakery in the evenings now and she's still rude, she still seems like she hates her job, and she has refused things I've purchased before.
The deli often closes early and they refuse to help you even if its before the posted closing time. It is one of the better grocery store delis though. The cold case photos were taken at 6pm.

Store is becoming a joke. Handed 3 dollar off coupon for a 12pack hot pockets that cost 12.99, over and it was never taken off and that's not right. What the.cashiers here steal the good coupons for themselves instead or what? . I'm on a budget. Called to ask about it and was told to waste more gas to come in and get my money back. I don't have that kind of money to waste gas to come all the way back to get the coupon that should have been taken off to begin with. Cashier's need to pay attention. It cost people extra money they don't have. Scandalous..

The customer service here is horrible! I bought a propane tank and the valve didn’t open. When I went to replace it I was told I needed to talk with customer service because I couldn’t find my receipt. The lady made me feel like I was trying to scam Safeway out of 23 dollars of propane. I spoke to customer service and was told I had to call the number on the bottle.I will never shop at this store again! Worst customer service I have ever experienced!
Clean store, most of the employees are polite and helpful
I tried to buy the strawberries that were advertised on sale on my mobile app. I found them in the store among others of the same brand and size with the sale advertised, so I tried to purchase them. They rang up at the regular price, not the sale price. When I asked the sales clerk why, they responded, saying the sale was for only one pound, not the 2 pound size. I advised them not to stock the 2 pound sized strawberries in the sales display. I didn't buy them, and I resent the feeling tricked into paying full price for the larger size, if I wasn't paying attention.
Currently going through renovations in the evening and is a total mess. The work is painfully loud I feel bad for the employees who are forced to work near it.
This is now the 2nd time we have had a bad experience at the pharmacy. The ladies there are always so rude, short and talk to you as if it’s an inconvenience to ask them a question. Worst customer service I’ve had in town. I get y'all are short staffed & overworked, but that is absolutely NO excuse to have an attitude when being asked a simple question. All staff in the pharmacy as well as at the customer service desk need to have their rude, disrespectful attitudes towards customers addressed, we will never step foot in this store again after today.
