My wife and I have been coming to this restaurant for over ten years and have visited regularly throughout that time. Unfortunately, today was the first time we had a negative experience, and it was disappointing given our long history of supporting this business.
During every visit in the past, I have always served my food on a medium plate without any issue. However, this time, once the cook finished preparing my food, he placed it onto a large plate and I was later charged the higher price because he determined that I had taken “too much food.” What bothered me most was not the extra charge itself, but the way it was handled. No one informed me about the change beforehand. I only discovered the upcharge when it was time to pay, which came as a surprise.
I tried to explain this to the waitress at checkout and mentioned that I had been a loyal customer for many years and that this had never happened before. She responded that when the cook believes someone has exceeded the plate limit, they automatically upgrade the plate size and charge accordingly. She pointed to a sign above the cooking area as the explanation, but the sign simply says “too much food upgrade to a bigger plate” and does not clearly explain any specific plate or portion limits.
For a restaurant we have supported for so many years, the lack of transparency and the way this situation was handled felt very disappointing. This review is not about the money, but about the manner and attitude toward customer service. Clear communication would have avoided this entire situation.
Out of curiosity, I later looked through other reviews and noticed that several customers have experienced similar issues, which suggests this may not be an isolated incident.
Because of this experience, we will be taking our business elsewhere. There are plenty of other dining options nearby that value clear communication and customer relationships. I also hope the upcharge was worth it, because it ended up costing the tip as well and I have always been someone who tips generously.

This Mongolian restaurant is a wonderful new spot that truly stands out. The place is very clean and well maintained, and the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The food is always fresh, with high-quality ingredients and generous portions that leave you more than satisfied. The cooks are especially pleasant and engaging, making the experience even better as they prepare your meal. On top of all that, the prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity you receive. Highly recommended!

The Pho was hot water over noodles with well done beef, that accompanied by the loud Jesus music made my meal less than desirable.
