I used to come here a lot for lunch, about once a week, and el sazón is not the same.. I don’t know if they have new owners now, or cooks but it does not taste the same.the masa is different, everything switched. I’m disappointed. I ordered a burrito last 3 times and the meat was over cooked and oil was dripping out of the bottom.. The cook there does not do a good job. It’s not the same and sadly I stoped going.. I decided to give it another chance today and ordered a gut ache, again the meat overcooked and the masa was weird.. not happy.. Get Mexican cooks please..

I had a not so good experience, it was my second time going at night and there was a young man with blond hair taking my order. Overall he was very rude and seemed like he did not want to be there. I did not feel welcome and will not be coming back .

I wasn’t sure what to expect but first off the fresh cucumber agua Fresca de pepina blew me away - I ordered three tacos carnitas with salsa verde and they gave me an array of salsas to try - one was a dark green one that was unique that I LOVED - the tacos were loaded, the ingredients were quality and had a fresh flavor - one bite and I was in taco heaven and frankly quite surprised at the delightful flavor because usually it’s the smaller taco trucks that I frequent. This is now my new taco spot. Prices were good, service was with a smile, and the food was worth the wait. I don’t have a photo to share because I devoured it too fast.

Authentic Mexican Flavors and Generous Portions – A Local Favorite in Kennewick
Taqueria El Sabor was a pleasant surprise and one of the most authentic Mexican dining experiences I’ve had in a while. This small, mom-and-pop-style restaurant was packed with customers even at 2 PM on a Friday, which says a lot. A local friend told us it’s always busy, no matter the time of day, and it’s open until midnight, making it a reliable late-night food spot as well.
🌮 What We Ordered:
• Beef Soup: This was my personal highlight. The beef was exceptionally tender, reminiscent of Korean galbitang (beef soup), though the ingredients and broth had a distinctly different, Mexican flair. The broth leaned oily, but the flavor was rich and comforting. Next time, I’d like to try it with regular beef instead of tendon.
• Beef & Cheese Quesadilla: Massive in size and definitely enough to share. Yes, it was oily—but that added to the indulgent, local flavor.
• Chili Verde Pork: Flavorful and juicy with just the right amount of kick.
• Nachos with Cheese & Beef: Not bad, but a bit dry compared to the other dishes. Might benefit from extra sauce or salsa.
🥒 Pickle & Sauce Bar: A huge bonus! There were four house-made salsas, pickled red onions with a spicy kick, radishes, and cucumber slices—all perfect accompaniments to balance out the heavier dishes.
👨👩👧👦 Ambience & Service:
The atmosphere was family-friendly with a classic, cozy Mexican restaurant vibe. The staff were friendly and efficient, even though the place was packed. Seating is limited, so be prepared to wait during peak hours—but it’s worth it.
💵 Pricing:
While prices have increased a bit (dishes ranging from $15–19), the portion sizes are generous—many plates could easily be split between two people. Considering the quality and authenticity, it still feels like a great value.
🇲🇽 Final Thoughts:
Most of the patrons appeared to be from Central or South American backgrounds, which added even more credibility to the authenticity of the food. I would absolutely return next time I’m in Kennewick. If you’re craving hearty, flavorful, and truly authentic Mexican cuisine, this is a must-visit.

We had these guys cater to my grandmother's funeral, and they were amazing. They even came out the night before to make sure they were at the right house. Thank you again. The food was delicious. I highly recommend them!!

Despite some negative reviews, I wanted to share my positive experience. As someone who reads and writes reviews, I was very pleased with the lengua tacos I ordered. The Jamaica, grilled vegetables, and slightly oiled tortillas made them the best I've had in town.
This location is conveniently open late and is popular after club hours, which is understandable given the great food. It's also a good option for a quick and authentic lunch during the workday. The interior has ample booth seating, though there is some echoing. While phone conversations might be difficult inside, this won't deter me from returning.
Although there are other locations, this one is my favorite.

Don’t let the reviews scare you; I’m not sure if they’ve taken criticism to heart and changed, or what, but I went today on a whim, was impressed by the service, decided to look up reviews, and was then surprised by the criticism.
They’re very busy, which I think is a great sign, but the cashier who rung us up was very pleasant, as was every other service person I talked to. The place was clean despite the traffic, and the food was great! My only complaint is that I could do with it being a little spicier, but the flavor and quality was awesome. We didn’t get our churros in time, but it was very busy as I said, and I’m patient. The manager brought them out to us after I asked about them.
All in all, I wouldn’t let the critical reviews scare you off, and I think a little patience and understanding from the customer also goes a long way if you see they are busy.
Edited to add: I did modify my order and didn’t experience them getting it wrong. I ordered the street tacos without onions, and I’m very picky to the flavor of onions and they made them correctly.
