The Clover Island Inn offers a solid 3/5 star experience that can work for those seeking an affordable stay, but it comes with some drawbacks. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the location is scenic, right on the water with lovely views of the Columbia River. However, it’s evident that the entire building is overdue for a significant renovation.

The decor throughout the hotel feels dated, with worn carpets, faded paint, and furniture that has seen better days. The rooms are generally clean but lack modern touches, with older bedding, limited lighting, and outdated bathroom fixtures. While the beds are comfortable enough, the thin walls can make it challenging to get a quiet night's sleep due to noise from the hallways and adjacent rooms.

The on-site restaurant is convenient and has a decent menu, offering a mix of local dishes and classic comfort food. The river view from the restaurant is a nice touch, but the overall quality of the meals is average. Some dishes are tasty, while others could use fresher ingredients and more flavor. The breakfast buffet is simple, with limited options that don't quite live up to expectations. The restaurant staff is attentive and friendly, but the ambiance is dated and could be vastly improved with a refresh.

The amenities, such as the pool and fitness center, are functional but basic, reflecting the same need for an upgrade. Overall, the Clover Island Inn provides a reasonable stay for those who value affordability and a riverside view, but a full renovation would go a long way in enhancing the comfort and overall experience for guests.

I really want to write a better review because the staff and location was great. Also the proximity to restaurants is nice. Unfortunately my back is hurting after sleeping here. Also, the sheets were scratchy. Overall it was a good stay. I would give 5 stars if the bedding was improved.

Slow service and food was served in groups rather than all at once. Clean, friendly, and tasty, though! Would go back!

Could have used a menu, their salad came with blue cheese crumbles. I purposely did not get the dressing because of my distaste of it. They were happy to remake the salad but more communication on menu and from staff would have pre-empted an awkward/ gross moment. Food was ok, price wise a bit higher than expected.

Monte Cristo was soggy and not cooked thoroughly.Chicken strips were made in an interesting batter and grandson enjoyed them.Stayed at the inn so needed silverware of any type which was missing from our take out.Due to extensive 3 years of traveling, I went to our truck and grabbed my own utensils and paper towels.Disappointed for a $17 sandwich.

The view was the ONLY great thing about our recent visit. The dessert tasted burnt, the drinks were absolutely horrific, the service was incredibly slow (we waited an hour for drinks and dessert) and after the server failed to return my credit card, I called the hotel to get it back and they told me they didn't have it. I canceled my card, which we all know is a pain, only to receive a phone call four days later from the front desk staff, who happens to be the only good staff they have, letting me know they actually do have my card. This place has become such a disappointment over the past decade. Started with horrible management allowing his drunk friends to live in the hotel and ruin the atmosphere, then they got lazy with cleaning the rooms, the food quality went out the window, and they started charging locals $300 deposits to stay because the managements friends have caused so many issues. Save your money. Go across the street to Ice Harbor. They have amazing food, fabulous drinks, and the best service in town!

We Celebrated our"17th"Anniversary here for dinner tonight. Our Server was very prompt even as she was busy. Our food was fabulous and cooked to perfection. We will DEFIANTLY revisit. The view was not the best due to all the fires filling the air. Didn't effect a thing at all tho. Wonderful Place.
