It was okay I guess. Inside is clean, tables are reasonably spaced, and it's comfortable. I went here with two friends for lunch. One friend uses a walker and they were able to accommodate him with no problem. We were there a bit later in the afternoon so I think that helped. Both of my friends ordered the clam chowder. It's a PNW staple and it was underwhelming to say the least. Too thick, lack of clammy flavor, not enough salt. All around not a very good dish. I had a turkey sandwich and a side salad. I'm the only person that finished my lunch. My sandwich was served with a cheese spread and a fruit spread. Typical turkey combo. I knew ordering it that it would be reasonably good, and it was. Salad greens were fresh. I ordered a meal with soup, salad, and half a sandwich. I was only served half a sandwich and salad. I made sure we weren't charged for all three on the check. There was a large selection of pastries and I'm afraid I did not get to try the cinnamon bun. I might go here again for pastries, but with the other options in town I doubt it.

Way overpriced. I walked in there for a drip coffee and decided to get a small little raspberry bar. Since when in the world is a tiny raspberry bar worth almost 7 dollars! I should've asked how much it cost, but who would ever think it would be that much. I ended up paying the money, almost $12 for a drip coffee and small raspberry . Walked in shock. Had to walk back in and ask how much each item cost. I won't be going there again. This is a packed place, so I don't need the excuse that small businesses need to charge more after Covid. That's BS. They're always packed with people out the door. They're being greedy and taking advantage of people. Oatmeal, raspberry and eggs along with flour don't cost that much to make.

Almost $20 for $2 worth of ingredients in the potato hashes. We also waited almost an hour for our food, which is apparently the norm here. We all work hard for our money, so I'd recommend you go spend your time and money elsewhere

It was very busy and quite crowded when I ate lunch here, ven though it was well past the noon hour. The waitresses were obviously stressed. I suspect the service would be better at other timesThe food was good.Vegetarian options: There is a nice selection of vegetarian options. You need to look for them throughout the menuParking: Good luck finding a parking spot. Be prepared to walk a good distance. There is a handicapped loading and unloading zone if one of your party is mobility impaired

Food was tasty. Server was friendly and working very hard! Waited 15 mins to be seated on a Wednesday early afternoon on a nice day. Not bad. Waited for our food after ordering for 20 minutes. (Seemed like a long time having ordered just a the Garden Salad and Biscuts & Gravy with potatoes) The atmosphere and decor were nice. My $15+ Garden salad was small, very much like a side salad would be and did not contain any spinach or carrots as described on the menu. Contained one slice of cucumber, one wedge of tomato. They kindly brought some spinach and a few more cucumber slices on a plate when I inquired. My dining companion ordered the $14+ biscuits and gravy. Gravy just managed to cover the tops of the biscuits and perhaps about a two square inch area dripped on the plate next to the biscuits... not generous. The biscuits and gravy CAME WITH THE CHOICE of eggs OR potatoes and my companion chose the potatoes.... WE WERE CHARGED EXTRA for the potatoes. (Unfortunately didn't notice until we were all the way back home in Seattle.) I was disappointed overall.

Let's start by saying this place is exceptionally loud. Next, the prices are now to the point of being totally unreasonable for a breakfast/lunch restaurant. $20 for a turkey sandwich and potato chips. And to make things worse, everything is priced at around $20. Breakfast - $20. Lunch - $20. Burger - $20. Salad - $20. Next, we had to wait 45 minutes to get our food. Next, the bathrooms are located in the serving area about 4 ft. wide where the wait staff is trying to get in to do their stuff. Finally, the bill screen came up - Tip -18%, 20% or 22%. What happened to 10% or 15%. Wait, the law also changed! The servers are making around $20 per hour now in Washington and tipping was created solely because restaurants paid so little ( like $3/ hr) and tipping was the way servers got paid. So you tipped 10% to 15%. This is no longer true. With restaurants charging so much to offset their new living wage requirements the tip is in the price already. Tip only if you got exceptional service 5% or 10%, like everywhere else in the world now that living wages are required by the restaurants.

My husband and I came in to order baked goods to go. The “waitress” stated she was multi tasking when taking our order. I had to repeat my order twice. I was charged for two items which are not in my bag. I paid $45 for (4) croissants, (1) scone and (1) cinnamon roll. She was more engaged with her friend booking an advanced reservation versus the customer standing in front of her. Expensive, poor service. Would not recommend.

Loved the cafe and Giant Cinnamon Roll. The town itself is frozen in time, and the cafe is just a testament to that. Beautiful place to stop by and get a cafe and feed the body with sugary treats. Their portions are huge and tasted amazing. I'd love to stop by again just for the Cinnamon roll.

The food here was good! The serving were huge. The prices were decent. I had the scramble and I didn't finish it. We did try a cinnamon roll and it was dried out, it definitely wasn't fresh. The service was good and the ambiance was welcoming.

Food was delicious! First I went there for just a pastry, which was cherry strudel btw and it was absolutely amazing, so we decided to come back for breakfast, and their quiche of the morning was delicious too! Very cute and cozy inside, friendly staff. I recommend this place and if I'm back in town I'm definitely going back !

We walked in at 2:30. According to the website, they close at 3. They told us very curtly "the kitchen is closed. You can order from the Bakery to go." We asked if we could order drinks and sit in the cafe area while we drank them. Their response, even more curt: "You can sit at the counter if you *really want to* but we're *closing*" (again, 30 minutes before closing). So, thanks for nothing! We ended up at a lovely cafe down the street.

Calico Cupboard is phenomenal. A couple things to note about this awesome spot: 1. The pastries and homemade bakery goods are out of this world. We ordered the Cinnamon Roll and it was big enough to share with 4 people. 2. The main dishes are made with locally sourced ingredients, the flavor is outstanding, and the portion sizes and sustenance is phenomenal. Literally one of the best breakfast hashes I have ever had. 3. The beautiful, professional, and kind ladies that work here will give you 5 star service, a nice environment to take a date on, catch up with family and friends, or explore the beautiful little town of La Conner in peace on your own. The customer service is fantastic. The charm of the inside, which I wish I had grabbed photos of, really makes you feel at home there. Overall, this place kicks major ass. You have to try it.
