Needed a sushi fix. Service was good but the sushi rolls were just ok. The scallop one lacked flavor and was not very substantial. The deep fried one was better. 3 rolls for $39.95 included miso soup. So with tip and tax $50 or so.

HEAVENLY ~~ Is the word to describe their new Tumwater Roll. Deep fried with cream cheese and crab meat, topped with spicy tune and green onion. I have enjoyed sushi for four decades. And once in a blue moon you get the opportunity to experience a new roll that just wows you. For me this is it. Piled high with the spicy tuna.This establishment is clean and the wait staff has a great smile and people skills. Great sushi. We also had their Crazy Spicy Roll. I cannot reply about their sushi but their teriyaki and Chinese are garbage. We both ordered a combo plate with teriyaki and general tso. The teriyaki was simply strips of chicken BOILED in Yoshida sauce. I'm very confident the general tso was from a prefrozen box kit you can buy at the grocery store. It also had no spice whatsoever and tasted more like sweet and sour. I don't even know what to say about the shiny florescent steamed cabbage. It's safe to say, unfortunately, we will not be returning. Also, I somewhat get that you don't start the order until we arrive to pick it up to assure it stays hot but don't lie to me about being busy when only 2 tables are occupied and no one came in to pick up after me.EDIT: I was called by Koibito after I left this review. They assured me their sauces were made in house and they have been in business many years. Their general tso isn't spicy and all recipes are different. I will say she was very nice but I still stand by me review.

Let me say at the top that the music playing softly was actually appropriate to a Japanese restaurant. We’ve eaten at many places that play almost anything except what would be suitable. That said, sorry for the tirade, what a welcoming place to sit and enjoy sushi, miso soup, gyoza, and tempura. A gracefully presented salmon roll was a pleasure to behold and savor. Warm miso soup was so comforting. Delicate gyoza had just the right amount of spice, and the tempura was crunchy and not greasy. Friendly staff kept us smiling and agreeing that we will return. Give them a go
Visited with my girlfriend. They had a great selection of rolls so we got about 6, all of them were great and came out pretty quickly too. Looking forward to visiting again.
