Lucky's Restaurant & Bar

For those of you who miss the old Hawk’s Prairie restaurant you need to give Lucky’s a visit. The folks at Lucky’s are great, the food is delicious (and “suspiciously”😊) like HP.

I had the Mexican Omlette (delicious) w/hash browns (perfectly cooked). If you like a good chili-cheese omlette -this is the place

Good service, clean inside, but the breakfast was average at best. Had chicken fried steak and eggs. For the $16,50 paid I expected a little more than a piece of meat that was smaller than the diameter of an English muffin smothered with gravy. Seems a bit pricey as our total bill for a ham and cheese omelet, chicken fried steak, and one coffee came to over $40 before tip.

I hate to do this to a smaller business, and even sadder that it is one of the closest breakfast places to me that I have a chance. But this place was meh. I swear my omelet had an after taste of the fridge, and wasn’t freshly made (and the egg texture was a little weird to me. Something felt off about it). It also wasn’t hot, as the cheese wasn’t completely melted. I was disappointed.

The service was really good, but this would not be enough to return :(

The Service was excellent! (Candy) Food had great flavor. My complaints are the portions. $17.50 biscuits and gravy was only one small biscuit. The bacon was the super thin stuff you would get on a McDonald's burger. I would come back if those issues were corrected.

The waitress isn't very lucky. She has a boss that thinks she doesn't need any help. She is waitress, hostess, cashier, busboy, bartender and I'm not sure if she is cooking and washing the dishes because I couldn't see back there. She held it together and served 20+ people while I was there. She was told there isn't enough customers to get more help. Mr. Owner... you don't know what a great employee you have in her and anyone else looking for a great employee should go snag her up! She did all of that without complaining. She was on top of it. As for the food...I feel bad saying it wasn't all that great, but it wasn't all that great. I had the croissant with ham and eggs and hashbrowns and husband had the chicken fried steak. Everything was over cooked. That could be because the cook was busy pooring a drink or waiting on people..🤷‍♀️
I'm giving Lucky's an overall 4 star only because of the great waitress!

I ordered the country fried steak breakfast from Grubhub this morning while I am at work and upon ordering I asked for jam to go with the toast that comes with my meal but when I received the order there was no jam. There needs to be an option in DoorDash or Grubhub to ask for these things bc I ate dry toast for no reason. The country fried steak was delicious but WHY DOES EVERYTHING NEED PARSLEY or whatever greens were on it. Like not everything needs that stuff. If I had the option to remove it I would have asked to have it be removed. But then again they don’t read the comments like when I asked for jam. I have issues with food textures and I had to scrap it all off and was left with almost no gravy.

Mt Rainier Burger is definitely one of my favorite burgers. All the staff seemed to enjoy their jobs. The restaurant was clean. And the price was about the same as going to a fast food place.
