Decadent and delightful!!!!!!
I got a piece of an old fashion caramel and a piece of a pecan cloud and both were pretty average tasting. On par with Russell stovers chocolate from the grocery store.
Good variety of chocolate
These are melt in your mouth, beautiful and affordable, decadent chocolates. I had the hazelnut hedgehog and just want more! The staff is amazing. I will go back to Washington just to go there.
I’ve eaten a lot of lemon bars in my life and the one I got here is probably one of the best. I don’t know about the other desserts but if they’re anything like the lemon bar then they’re superb.
The best kept secret in Langley is the gelato at Sweet Mona's. Don't miss out!
Four of us came in for ice cream. We were the only customers in the store. We stood there waiting to order for five minutes but were totally ignored by the two clerks. One of my friends even asked them a question but was ignored. Very rude. So we walked out. Not a great way to run a business. You might be able to do this in the summer but winter is coming. Good luck with that. Perhaps try training your people better.
Ms Baylee was super welcoming and nice.
She helped us choose the best tasting flavors of the very delicious assortment of ice-creams available.
She also crafted a wonderful cup of cappuccino in a gorgeous ceramic cup that was both delightful and potent.
We congratulate you for employeeing such exceptional individuals.
We are grateful 🙏
I was in line holding my 2-year-old. A lady came from behind me and asked if I knew where the bathroom was. As I was trying to navigate her to where I thought the public restroom was, the employee behind the counter (male, dark hair, very bright clothing, hat) rudely interrupted me and told me to move to the side. Apparently he was trying to help another group of guests that were getting ice cream. The way he approached me was rude, but oh well.
When I got up to the counter, I asked if he had Red Bull spritzers. His response was to shake his head and laugh at me for the question.
Incredibly bizarre response. But looking at other reviews, this doesn’t seem out of character for the staff there. I’ve managed a restaurant since 2019, I can tell a jaded employee when I see one, and unfortunately, that reflects poorly on the whole restaurant.
EDIT for 08/16:
I’m editing this review, which I’ve never done before on Google Reviews, because the owner responded to my review.
I only have about 30 reviews on here over the course of 7 years or so. I only leave reviews if I have exceptionally bad or exceptionally good experiences—like most people, I presume.
If I come across as “harsh,” it is because I manage a restaurant and have been in this industry since I was a teenager. It’s what I’ve dedicated my entire professional life to. I see a troubling trend of poor and negligent customer service coming from eateries, bars, restaurants, cafes, etc—especially from establishments that rely heavily on tourism.
There’s nothing more to share in regards to the experience I had at this establishment. I felt the employee was rude in asking me to move out of the way, and I feel like he was rude for laughing at my request for a Red Bull. That’s it. Don’t laugh at customers and insinuate your establishment is too good to serve Red Bull.
I initially wasn’t going to write the review at all, but I had a hunch this was not the first issue with this employee. I read multiple reviews, not including mine, that mentioned this employee’s rude and unprofessional behavior. Everyone has a bad day, but the owner knows this wasn’t an isolated incident. If you scroll several reviews past mine, she even gives a quick backstory on this employee’s growth and development, which was in response to another negative review about this person.
I don’t want to shame any business, but the trend of bad customer service, mixed with disengaged and pompous FOH staff, needs to change. The owner seems like a caring business owner, I really respect that. It is not her fault that this happened, I just hope she coaches her staff to not do something like this in the future. I changed my review to 4 stars given her response back.
Not just the best chocolate on the island, but probably the best chocolate in all of Seattle! Possibly the entire west coast.

Sweet Mona’s Chocolates is an absolute gem on Whidbey Island! The chocolates are beautifully made and taste amazing—I especially loved the milk chocolate covered marshmallows, and their take on Reese’s cups was delicious. The gelato was rich, creamy, and full of flavor—perfect on a warm day. On top of that, the staff was incredibly sweet, welcoming, and helpful. This place is a must-visit if you're anywhere nearby!
Get the truffle shot!
Delicious gelato. The young person serving us was very friendly and polite. Lots of delicious looking chocolate, too. Highly recommend.
They have quite a variety in the store. Some of the chocolates were great. Some okayish. I guess it depends on what flavour you prefer.
Great service, really nice people.
We got some ice cream and a triple mousse chocolate pastry. It was delicious.
I recommend trying the rice ice cream, it’s amazing.
