We had looked forward to the dinner, but sadly, it was disappointing. The food was fine, but not exceptional. The waffle in the first course was too big and the seafood flavors didn't come through. The hamachi crudo was fine, but I prefer fattier hamachi. The crab chawanmushi had great flavors but the texture was too runny for me for it to be a chawanmushi (this didn't bother my husband). The garlic bread was just plain garlic bread - we didn't eat all of it. It seems weird for it to be a course on its own. We liked the last two dishes - tortellini and scallops. The dessert was too sweet; we couldn't eat more than a few bites. We were expecting to be wowed, and that just didn't happen for us.
Every dish was creative, surprising, and delightful! The staff were so friendly and the atmosphere was so relaxing and romantic. Thank you!
We have been coming here for years. While Matt has retired and the restaurant has shifted to meet a different type of experience, it's still as wonderful as ever! Emily and staff carry on the tradition of excellence in every way! You shouldn't miss this terrific foodie experience ?
Lovely dining room with excellent ambiance (great playlist btw!). The food and service were superb! A 10/10 experience. We will be back!
Fantastic cuisine in Langley. It's wonderful that you can order a la carte. Perfect for sharing small plates of exquisite food! Very creative flavors and presentation!
We were excited to return for a dining experience because the last we dined was before COVID. The ambience was lovely and by the time we left a little after 8pm the restaurant was full. We went for the 5 course menu: pumpkin soup, molasses bread, gnocchi, salmon cake, and giant truffle. The pumpkin soup was great; it wasn't creamy and it came in a little pumpkin which I thought was creative and waste less. The bread was moist and we enjoyed it with the horseradish butter. The potato gnocchi was overdone so a little hard. The salmon cake was a surprise because on the menu it said salmon. It was very pretty to look at with different colors and also textures but they didn't work for me. The salmon cake was overdone in some parts but not the other. The yuzu pesto was delicious but I thought it was overpowering. Lastly, the giant truffle was beautifully made and the taste was excellent. Great chocolate! The only downside was the because there was so much cocoa powder there were several of us coughing as we took the first bite. The course menu at the time was $110 with I think either $65 or $75 for three 2-ounce pours for wine pairing.
This is a wonderful dining experience in Langley, both the food and the ambiance are perfect. We love eating here.
All in all, we liked our experience, but the dishes on offer are too few. They accommodate intolerances, etc. but there is little room for likes/dislikes. Some dishes were outstanding others not so. We were 4 and were sat at the end of a banquette size table, inconvenient conversation.
They now have an ala carte or bar menu and a multi-course tasting menu. (The menu changes every week.)I was very excited to try out the bar menu because I love staying at the Inn at Langley. To my taste, the food was overly fussy and not worth a second try.The Parker house rolls were so buttery I thought I had gone to heaven, but, the horseradish chive butter was bitter and cold. The butter ruined what could have been an extraordinary tasting experience. The skinny, 2 inch piece of crab in the crab avocado salad was served with a fizzy, acidic dressing that overshadowed the crab. The half avocado was coated in some kind of black herb that made it look like half a dead black widow spider and, unfortunately, tasted just about as good. The salmon dish was cooked to perfection, but there was little of it.The $24 glass of Malbec tasted no better than the bottle of Malbec I get at Trader Joes for $12.99. (I am not complaining about the price of the glass of Malbec - because I know restaurant's are struggling these days- I just thought they could do better for a $24 glass of wine.)The service was wonderful. The food plating was beautiful. The restaurant is in a lovely setting that makes you feel like you are on an European vacation. You might want to check it out if you like tasting interesting flavors.

This meal was absolutely outstanding. We chose the 4 course meal with the wine pairing. My only qualm was the amount of wine you got for the price. My husband googled all the bottles and I don't think any of them retailed for over $20. We got 4, 2 oz pairings for $65. We would do it over again though for the experience.
One of our favorite places to visit. This was our first time back since they changed from the prefix menu and it did not disappoint. The quality is on point, service impeccable, and the presentation as always is top notch.
I wasn't sure what to expect post-pandemic so I made dinner reservations hoping their restaurant was still excellent. In fact, the food was even better than I remember! Their new chef deserves as many kudos as possible for the exquisite and creative menu. The entire table was smiling as we began eating the salmon and the medley of tastes is unequaled. Service was superb as well as was the ambiance. A definite A+ in my book.
The Inn is fabulous. Gorgeous rooms with a quiet setting and incredible views and grounds. All the employees were very kind and helpful. My only negative was the food quantity in the restaurant for dinner. We did the tasting menu; and the food was delicious but the portions were so small, my wife and I had to go get something to eat after. My salmon, the main course, was a bit dry and bland. I ate it all, but still mentioned it to our server. We booked this for our 20th wedding anniversary, and the Inn wrote us a nice note and surprised us with champagne in the room. No mention at the restaurant though, even though I noted it on our reservation. I was expecting at least a mention from our server or the chef. Overall, after spending as much on dinner as our room, I was left disappointed. It won't stop me from coming back to the Inn, but I don't know if I would do dinner again. The complimentary breakfast was the star of the stay. Incredible handmade foods with delicious flavors.
Wow, outstanding flavors, service and enjoyment, once again!!!!!! See you every month. One small suggestion: the time before this one, the gnocchi was offered ala carte. This time, we asked about the agnolotti and it was only on tasting menu...we understand, yet having a mid-course choice is nice. The salmon was as excellent the second time, BTW. Cheers!!!!!
