Came here for an anniversary. Ordered their 15oz ribeye, 6oz filet, mash potatoes, and 1 drink for $250 w/ tip. I'm not sure what other reviewers ate, but maybe they feel they must exaggerate because of cost, or maybe they've never had an excellent steak. Either way, it's overpriced. There are more affordable michelin starred restaurants than this and they're actually worth it. The steaks were ordered med rare and were basically medium. Nothing special. The potatoes were great! I highly recommend going elsewhere as I'm sure you can find an equivalent steak for a more reasonable price. Servers were attentive for the most part.

The food was great. Steaks cooked perfect. Our server was another matter. Never have I been made to feel less welcome at a restaurant. I would expect a restaurant that requires a deposit to make a reservation would train their staff and manage them better. I will never be back again.

My wife and had the Chophouse recommended to us by a shop owner in town, and I am glad I asked. We ordered 3 different cocktails and they were all well-crafted and delicious—perfectly balanced between flavor and spirits. We sat at the bar and enjoyed our interaction with the bartender (owner?) after what I thought was an initial standoffishness. He certainly knows what he is doing behind the bar.

We had nibbled before we arrived, so only ordered steak and bread for food. The steak was excellent, cooked and seasoned just right for us. The bread was good, with a generous serving of tasty mushroom tapenade.

The steaks are prime and the prices reflect it. This is not a place to go on a tight budget or with kids. The location is central and below street level, so no windows or view. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable, however. We look forward to returning.

I give this place five stars overall. The bartender and the service is great. My buddy Scott created the menu and the items and set up the meat purveyor. I ordered the salad and bread one night with a couple of beers and the other night I had the filet (the menu says fillet, but who's counting) :) mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts.

I only have a couple of issues with this place and I hope they address them because if they did this place would be super great, up from just merely great. 1. They need a burger on the menu. Not everyone can afford a 40-50 dollar piece of meat A la carte, every night. If you like this place, the atmosphere, etc. your only choice if you want to eat something substantial is a prime cut of meat. They also need to maintain some of their lunch menu sandwiches into dinner, especially on the weekdays when town is slow and locals come dine. I know they have limited seating space and if they are looking at "per table revenue" I can see why they do what they do but I think they could pack the place and expand into an enclosed heated outdoor area by doing this. 2. I think they need more vegetable sides and salad options on the menu. They only have one salad offering (and if you don't like vinaigrette with pears you're in a bit of trouble). 3. They had my favorite beer but only in cans. Drinking cans of beer is for floating the river. If they have bottles or a small keg that would be so much better. I just don't like canned beer. Probably just me. Otherwise the food is great, the steak was delicious, their bread is outstanding, the bar is warm and inviting, the tables aren't refined or anything (in fact the restaurant looks exactly like my uncles paneled basement bar that he built himself, it was very cool, but it's not representative of the fine dining vibe they have going on there but totally serviceable) and relative to every other restaurant in town trying to do fine dining they are by far the best. Based on how good their meat supplier is I bet they'd have one hell of a burger. Bring it on.

Food was very good. Well seasoned. Excellent steak. Unfortunately, everything arrived cold. Not sure why. Atmosphere and service were fair, but unremarkable. Overall, we enjoyed the dining experience, but felt it was overpriced. Not sorry for eating there though.

The food, beverage, and environment was great; however, for price point of this place, service could have been better.

Worst service ever, they don’t want you to ask anything, just get your food and pay is what I got from them

Our family took a little vacation to Leavenworth last week. We were there for a total of 7 days and we ate at just about every restaurant in town. We were told by multiple locals that the Old World Chophouse was the best steak place in town. There was a lot of hype about the quality of meat because the owner was a butcher that cut and trimmed his own steaks. Unfortunately, our experience fell short of the hype. We arrived a little early for our reservation and my husband decided he would go sit at the bar while we waited because the entry way was very small and crowded. The bar tender was rude and immediately dismissed him. It was not the best start to the evening and if we hadn't already paid a $50 reservation deposit, ($10 per person in our party) that was now non-refundable, we probably would have just gone somewhere else. We were seated pretty quickly and the rest of the staff was friendly enough, but there was a somewhat pretentious feeling from everyone. The food and drinks we ordered were good. However, I can't say that any of it was outstanding and when your paying at that price point for your meal you expect it to meet a certain standard. My husband got the ribeye and was surprised by the amount of gristle and silverskin he had to cut way. Our waitress told us all the ribeyes were 15 oz, but when it arrived it seemed a little on the small side and my husband felt that his steak was generously over seasoned and slightly cold. I got the filet mignon and had no complaints. It was well seasoned and well cooked. Their stakes are priced by the oz and are sold a la carte, so if you want any sides you have to pay extra. Between my husband and I we spent over $160 just in the steaks, on top of what we spent on drinks, bread and side dishes. Needless to say we left dissatisfied. We had steaks at two other restaurants in town and had a much better experience at both of them.

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU GO:
My boyfriend and I dined here today. 1/6/25 for dinner. Upon walking in, we loved the ambiance and were even seated early from our scheduled reservation. After being seated we were met with our server, Christopher. His attitude towards us was pretentious, maybe because of our age, almost as if he was talking down to us. However, to his credit he did make reasonable drinks.
My boyfriend and I both ordered oysters to start, two ribeye steaks, mashed potatoes and rice. The oysters were served with Ritz Crackers and tasted as if they came out of a can. The steaks were extremely tough, flavorless, and you could get better garnishes from Applebees. The rice looked and tasted as if it was a bag of Rice-a-Roni. The potatoes, although good, I can’t for sure say were fresh considering the rest.
On an additional note, although I can see what they may be trying to achieve, the board they have of their steak availability, made the place feel overly pretentious and a like a deli rather than an authentic steakhouse.
If you’ve read this far, we just want to warn people that your dollar will go further elsewhere, ESPECIALLY considering the prices here. I hope the owner and staff takes this into consideration as this is one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we’ve had.

Husband and I thought the food was delicious, but the menu is not designed for 2 people - it’s more for a group that wants to order a bunch of different 1 food dishes and eat family style. So it was a little frustrating to leave without stuffed bellies and a pricey bill.

Wife and I are here Monday, 12/16/24. Swayed by the reviews of unbelievable steaks. We both showed up in the mood for a ribeye, unfortunately the ribeyes were all sold out by 6:30pm. Resorted to filet mignon, they came out about 40 minutes later a bit cold and cooked more than we asked for. The bartender was freaking awesome, kept our drinks flowing, but the overall experience compared to the reviews left us extremely underwhelmed. Especially when we got the rather healthy bill for overcooked food we didn't intend to eat when we walked in. Understood, it's a Monday after a probably very busy weekend just before Christmas. Just, be wary of when you come here we guess, could end up a bit of a disappointment.
