Great taste and flavors absolutely the best ice cream you can find in this area

As an ice cream aficionado, I am very particular when it comes to the ice cream I eat and enjoy. This is my favorite ice cream I’ve eaten at a shop! They have many fun flavors to choose from and the three I tried were all delicious!

A paper straw for a $9 milkshake is criminal, especially since they serve it in a plastic cup

First off, let me start by saying this: It is worth it. On Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025, my family tried Whistlepunk. I was skeptical about waiting in a long line for ice cream that probably tastes like everything else on Main St. but it truly is the real deal. From the ice cream itself to the fresh-baked cones, what you get is something a couple steps above a normal ice cream experience.

My wife, two kids (8 y.o. and 5 y.o.), and I all ordered items from Whistlepunk. My kids opted for Bertha’s caramel brownie while my wife and I each ordered the maple pecan. And not only did I just order the maple pecan for me but I also ordered cookies-n-dreams, too. You see, Whistlepunk does something really cool where you can “split” a regular scoop and get two flavors. I heard that to do this it once cost 50 cents but it is now free. However, even if the 50-cent fee still applied it would be totally worth it. I am including a photo in this review that shows my cone after I had enjoyed half of it. You will see that both the maple pecan and cookies-n-dreams flavors are absolutely packed with their respective signature items (pecans and cookies). Sometimes ice cream will be scarce with the fillings but not at Whistlepunk.

Something else that isn’t scarce are the servings. I ordered just a single scoop but my delicious waffle cone was completely jammed with yummy ice cream. The same can be said for my wife’s cone. The kids loved their treats and I did too (because I definitely tried them haha). Quick rundown on prices: Our total came to $27.69 which I agree is a little pricey. Our single scoops were just $5.50 but our cones were $1.75 each. The scoops for our kids were just $4.50 but the toppings (they each got one) were $1 each. However, for a special dessert on vacation, the price truly was worth it. If you are on vacation in Leavenworth, I highly recommend giving Whistlepunk a try. 🍦🍧🍨

We like the local vibe and location, and I personally really enjoyed the ice cream. My wife and kids didn’t like it so much (my youngest son thought blackberry fool was good but maple pecan was bad)

They limited us to 2 tastes per person (there wasn’t a long line or anything), which to me seems unnecessary and stopped us from really getting to choose the flavor we most wanted.

And, 3 out of the 4 of us had stomach aches later that day or the next day

I am a locally raised leavenworth resident. Store closed at 9pm. Got in line at 8:32pm. Reached the door at 8:40pm. Was told no more customers when opening the door to step inside. Fine walked out of line and left. Group of tourists behind me opened the door and walked in. They were not turned away. Clearly hours of business need to be stated better and that locals are not wanted.

A lot of ice cream for value. Quick and fast. Ice cream was really good. The two guys scooping ice cream on Wednesday night 8/13 where very patient with customers and very helpful.

Amazing ice cream! Highly recommend! My favorite is the Blackberry Fool. Fresh hand made waffle cones.

Really good ice cream.
I had the Salted Caramel and Blackberry Fool. Both were rich and creamy and the fruit flavor actually tasted like real berries.
The line was a bit long and the space inside is tight, so it felt a little hectic trying to decide what to order while people waited behind me. Staff was friendly though and moved quickly.
Just wish there was more space to relax and enjoy it.

Don’t FALL for the long queue or your IG influencers recommendation!

Flavours were Meh! Tastes like standard factory made fare.

This place is NOT worth the wait. Gelato place a little up the street tasted better and NO LINES.

Cool adventure wheel though.

But definitely support the graduates who work here 🎓

This is one of THE BEST ice creams I have ever had!! There has been a line a mike long every day. Today, a local asked if we had tried Whistlepunk yet? I said, is it really worth the hour wait? She said absolutely! We decided to head over there. Fortunately, they had just opened, and it was only about a 30-minute wait. Either way, it would have been worth the hour! This creamy deliciousness in a just made waffle cone was amazing! You could smell the cones cooking while standing outside. I had the blueberry. Fresh and very blueberry. The salted carmel received two thumbs up as well. It is entirely worth the wait!!

Absolutely loved our visit to Whistlepunk Ice Cream in Leavenworth!
We stopped by on a Saturday with family and our puppy, and this place made our day even more special. I had the Umpqua huckleberry ice cream with chocolate—the flavor combo was rich, unique, and refreshing. The best part? Their variety of waffle cones and cups—so fun and different from regular ice cream shops! The staff was friendly, and the cozy vibe fits perfectly with the Leavenworth charm. Definitely a must-visit for ice cream lovers. 🍦💜🐾

Talk about nice lukewarm ice cream by the time it was served. Not sure when was the last time they cleaned the tools they use because there was minerals/sediment in my cup.
