Feel so fortunate to have stumbled onto this hidden gem while waiting for an extensive auto repair during a road trip. We ate here 3 times in 2 days! Seafood chowder- Amazing… the Calamari was a repeater, bistro medallion dinner was fabulous. Hope we can find our way back someday….

I pulled the waitress aside and suggested they raise their prices. Seriously, from salad to dessert, top 3 meals of my life.

I have been to Hay-Js many times. The food is always good. This time, however, was the worst service my family has received at this restaurant. The waitress never told us about any specials. We did not even know they had specials until we had placed our order and then heard our waitress telling them to a nearby table. We were not provided a kids menu or crayons, yet the other young ones in the restaurant had them. Once we did get the kids menu, no crayons and the waitress took it away once we placed our order. We were never asked if we were celebrating anything. We were celebrating a birthday. Saw many other tables have desserts with candles brought to their table. Very disappointing to be treated so differently than those around us. As good as the food is I do not think we would ever go back with how we were treated. Disappointing.

Amazinggggggg food and service. This has been on our list for a while. Mad at myself for waiting so long. The Halibut is to die for. The steak was amazing. Everybody enjoyed the food, the vibe, and the entire experience. We certainly will be frequenting this spot in the future. Yum!

Awesome food, comfortable atmosphere! Seafood chowder and Caesar salad were great, as was the smash burger. We will be back!

My wife and I joined another couple for Valentine’s Day dinner at Hay J’s Bistro on Friday, Feb. 14, 2025. It was our first time dining at the restaurant. I want to start this review by saying we had a good time. It is a cozy spot and everyone who works there is extremely nice, including Megan, our server. We had a reservation for 7:30 p.m. and it was ready for us on the dot.

Bread was brought out early and it was tasty. My wife ordered a cup of the seafood chowder which she really enjoyed. When it came to our entrees, my wife ordered the ribeye ($54) and I ordered the prime rib ($54) which was part of that night’s special. I appreciated the fact that they allowed me to substitute the baked potato with garlic mashed potatoes. We don’t mind paying a little extra for our meat, but I was a tad disappointed with ours. The flavor was good but both of our cuts were a little tough. I think I was hoping more for that tender, “melt in your mouth” type experience.

Couple other observations: We were the last ones to leave the restaurant and I extend my gratitude to the staff for not showing us any attitude or trying to whisk us out. When we left, they were all very kind and gracious. It would be nice if bread baskets were refilled and there was more of an initiative to refill drinks (i.e. I had a Dr. Pepper and it was empty for a long time before I asked for a refill). I don’t know if we will return but I can definitely see the charm of Hay J’s. 🥩

Great food and service in a cozy spot. I highly recommend the tenderloin and their gin martini. Also their bread pudding was to die for. Definitely support this local restaurant

Delicious food and phenomenal service. Warm luxurious environment with a relaxing atmosphere. My husband and I live in Liberty Lake, and this is the only place we enjoy spending our money when eating out. We like more high-end restraunts coming from Naples, FL, and this place fits the bill! My husband has brought many guests who fly in on business here. I typically will swing in and get a gorgonzola salad to go through the week. Don't let the fact that a gas station is a nearby deter you. It's in a very high-end part of town, and there's a Tesla dealership nearby. It's a great location and the staff is amazing!
