We were in town for Houndstooth Clinic and decided to stop by. The host was super welcoming and made great conversation. We were surprised by the food, the velveting is perfect it’s some of the best American Chinese cuisine we’ve ever had. No idea how they did it without using MSG. If you know good food when you taste it, you need to check this place out. You won’t be disappointed!

It was the first time we have visited this restaurant, and we were completely overwhelmed with the excellent food and the hospitality of our hosts. We had a large group, so we occupied a large round table near the back of the restaurant, and it was perfect for our needs. My experience is, that when you have a large group, someone will probably order a shared dish that I will not like. That did not happen, everything was excellent! The proportions are very generous, and I did not have that feeling like I ate too much breading or oil. I left very full, and pleasantly so. I asked, and found out that the large family table can be reserved, so we will be making this restaurant a regular meeting place for our family. My wife and I live 45 minutes to the south, and my daughter’s family lives about 45 minutes north of this restaurant, so it will be perfect. They even brought out a complimentary dish for my grandson because it was his birthday! And the people were so nice. Obviously, I highly recommend this restaurant, it is a bit of a drive from the interstate highway, but totally worth the time. I have to label this restaurant a hidden gem! Enjoy!

Glad we chose this spot for one of our rare dining-out evenings. The food was fantastic, and there was more than enough to bring home.

I have a friend that is a life long friend of the owner operators of this restaurant. She told me about it and invited me to have a dinner there with her.
I honestly did not know what to expect.
OH MY GOODNESS!!! I ordered the West Lake soup, Mongolian beef and broccoli and the crab puffs. (please don't hold me to the names of the food but this is close)
I could not believe how good this food was. I am a former Army cook (1982-1985) Then I cooked for a place in St. Louis called the Bevo Mill, which is a German restaurant. So I have had my share of restaurant food.
This food was so good that I began to go once a week!! This has never been the case for me. The next time I went I had to order the West Lake soup again, and the crab puffs. BUT then I made the mistake of ordering the Garlic fried Green beans!!!! Oh no!!
This is not an exaggeration - it was so good, there was as few times I went and got just the Green beans!! They were so good. I am so impressed about their cooking, as a single man, I have to make sure I don't eat there all the time. I won't stay in my budget. Please believe me....I am not making this up. It is so good I want to eat there all the time. But that would be impractical for me. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Sichuan is a flavor you want to try! New experience bringing a wonder of the world.
We had a full sit down experience with prompt service and dishes coming out back to back.
To start:
Egg Flower Soup: Add Sichuan Pepper, so good!
Jasmine Tea: Very good flavor
Chicken Lo Mein: Moist and very filling noodles and chicken.
Sichuan Style Pork (pick your own spice level): Amazing peppers, bamboo shoots, and butt style pork in a flavorful mala feeling.
The “mala” sensation comes from the combination of Sichuan peppercorns and chili peppers, which create both heat and a tingling feeling on the palate. Sichuan pepper, derived from the prickly ash tree, is responsible for the numbing effect. The cuisine balances seven flavors: salty, sweet, bitter, acid, pungent, nutty, and spicy.
Service was great inside and hospitality brought warmth with conversation.
Atmosphere: Great table space. Music was a bit loud.
Take-Out can take longer and dry out food so order directly from them instead of delivery applications.

The woman who waited on us arrived to the US from China about 2 years ago, she informed us that the chefs in the kitchen were chefs in China and wanted to open a restaurant here in the US. The food was amazing, very authentic recipes using herbs and spices that were very savory. With spicy hot dishes, they don't just shake pepper flakes, it is a full blend of spices that are hot and flavorful, if you order the high level heat, be sure you like it spicy hot. They also are mindful many Americans are not into spicy dishes and they make the spicy dishes without hot spice if desired. Great place with very good and authentic dishes and the host will be quick to suggest foods you may like if you are undecided.

The food was very flavorful, and the service was stellar. The lady was very nice, and they gave us a promotional free appetizer, which was above and beyond.
Pros: Very Flavorful, clean, quiet, friendly service
Cons:
The only improvements I could think of: I wasn't a big fan of the dipping sauces. It's a personal preference, I like a thicker sauce, and the more common flavors of american adapted sauces. My hubby thought medium spice was too mild, so if you like it spicy get the more spicy version. He would have also liked a "can" label next to the sodas on the menu. All in all, was a great experience, we'll come back again sometime.
We ordered the sweet and sour chicken, bbq pork, spring rolls, a sizzling cumi medium beef, and got a promotional sesame bun/roll thing, along with a small thing of rice, and egg flower soup.

The interior is nothing special aside from a few interesting pieces of art and interesting books. However the food was amazing! I loved the cumi beef, and my partner loved his dry pot cauliflower.

Taste of Sichuan has been a fantastic dining experience every time I’ve visited! The service is consistently friendly and attentive, which makes every meal enjoyable. I really appreciate their diverse menu—it’s perfect for any craving. Whether you’re in the mood for classic Chinese dishes like orange chicken or broccoli beef, or something more adventurous, they’ve got you covered. Their unique selections set them apart, and it’s refreshing to have such great variety in our area. I truly hope they stick around because dining options are limited here, and this place is a gem. Highly recommend!
