Starvin' Sam's #15 is now Kendall Grocery, but Hot Stuff remains and is the best take and bake this side of Sumas Mountain.Parking: Lot is dedicated to the building, ample parking.Wheelchair accessibility: Flat ground from the parking lot all the way through the store to the counter.

Avoid this place! Stopped here on our way to Mt. Baker. Was going to buy a couple of cups of coffee and a couple of pastries for a early morning snack. Went to go inside the store and an employee was out front near the doors sweeping....no good morning, no welcome, no hello. I even had to ask if they were open. Then I asked where the restrooms were and she pointed to the Porta Potties out front! They were beyond nasty. There's a Shell near this store and it's a much, much better choice!

I found the owner and an employee to be rude. There are other options to getting gas here and I won't be back.

Located in the Starvin Sams. Very decent hot food & pizza and Starvin Sams is like a mini grocery store that has a good amount of frozen foods, drinks and more

I recently worked at Starvin Sams in Kendall for some income until I could find work in my field. I actually liked the job and the people I worked with were lovely. I had no cashier experience and it took me a little longer to learn, but thought I was doing fine. Suddenly without warning, the "boss man" as they call him, fired me. There were 2 other employees fired at around the same time. Boss man seems to enjoy firing people as fast as they are hired. But people who don't want to drive to Bellingham for work don't have many options in Maple Falls/Kendall and have to put up with all kinds of injustices. It's interesting that as much money as the owner/management rake in with these convenience stores, the employees in the Kendall store have to work in a dilapidated old building with a Porta-Potty out front that serves as a public restroom (gross!), no dishwasher in the pizza kitchen, and no air-conditioner for the summer.

I love this store (except in the summer because they have no A/C)! They always have everything I need and more and everyone is so polite.

I frequent this store 3-4 times a week and am usually very impressed with certain things these days and taken aback by some (the wardrobe of employees at times) but am very impressed that it is the only store (I shop in from b'ham to Maple Falls) that has a sign on the door that states that "only service dogs are allowed in the store". I for one am very put off by a random dog being hauled around in a store. but the other day I walked into starving sams #15 and there was a girl holding a little collie puppy and the employees and customers were all petting it. since when is a puppy a service dog? has it had its shots? does its long hair get in the food/pizza they serve? so now it makes me wonder what other things does the staff do that they are not supposed to? I am thinking about taking my business there.
