Tortilla Soup, by far my favorite here! If you order to-go it has a good amount, I'd say a little bigger than the normal "large" size container, and comes with a bag of nachos.
I have checked out other mexicano restaurants around covington/maple valley, but El Caporal is my fave.
Staff is always attentive and welcoming.
Gracias! :)

Came here about 3 years ago and we sat in the lobby for like 20 minutes and got no attention or service. We walked out huffy and resolved to give them a second chance. Today was that day… and they didn’t disappoint. Awesome waiter, very attentive. Football on the tv. Drinks and chips came out quick. Food was quick. Everything tasted great! Would definitely come back and be a second chance person because it paid off!!! Fajitas were fantastic. And the queso was BOMB!!

Short story: Food was really good, wait staff was good. My drink was not and the manager was rude to me. I won't be back.
Longer story: This was one of the first times I've ever ordered a mixed drink at a restaurant. I saw "raspberry mojito" on the Specials white board at the entrance and envisioned a few fresh raspberries mashed up with the mint leaves. Sounded good. The raspberry flavor turned out to be from syrup and I could not finish even half of my $10.50 drink.
I mentioned it to the nice gentlemen up front as I was leaving, who told me he thought he could help. A lady came back and asked me what was wrong, but did not tell me she was the manager right away. I didn't know who she was, but explained my drink situation, and she described why she could not use fresh berries. Okay, that made sense. But....there was no apology, not even "I'm sorry you did not enjoy your drink" and certainly no "Let me see your bill and I'll put $5 back on your card." Any of these options would have made me feel better about our dinner there.
What did she say? That I should have told my waiter right away when I was asked how everything was. Total implication was that it was my fault and therefore my problem. Then she walked away.
Okay. I won't be back.

As a lifelong vegetarian, I know I can order spinach enchiladas at a Mexican restaurant and have a decent meal: I won’t go hungry and I won’t be disappointed with a green I love to eat. What I did not expect, what I had not anticipated, was the best spinach enchiladas I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. That spinach was seasoned to within an inch of its life, served with tender mushrooms and the sweetest red onion in corn tortillas. The sauce and sour cream made the entire dish taste out of this world. We were seated far enough away from a family so no one but my husband could hear me let loose on a string of expletives the moment I put the first bite to my lips. They were THAT good.
You have forever spoiled me for spinach enchiladas. I will not be able to order them anywhere else because I know – I KNOW – I will be disappointed.

Ordered a Coctel de camaron asked for it cold. They served it pretty hot.The shrimps tasted as if they had for bad. My husband ordered a Pollo en Crema and we found 2 eyelashes. We also ordered a flan which also had lashes in it. Not happy .
