This is one of the finest dining experiences I have ever had ,the stone ground salsa at the table was fabulous, giant bone marrow-a big plate of bones-so good! But the 40oz bone in rib steak was the crown of this meal, so tender ,I could have eaten it without a knife ,the smoke / aroma from the mesquite wood could be smelled clear out on the street.just like a nieborhood BBQ , then the sides of goodness ,sautéed button mushrooms were perfect seasoned and with homemade corn tortillas it was the perfect blend for a gourmet Mexican dining experience, oh! Did I mention the heavenly rice pudding for dessert? Yummy! This was the finest steak steak dinning experience i can remember, absolutely a wonderful meal!

Food was good but the entire experience was rather chaotic. Sides and tortillas were missing when entres were delivered and it was a while before we saw a server again. Some of the sides are apparently meant to be shared but there was no warning of that so we significantly over ordered on sides that don't reheat well.

The Vacio Steak was the BEST steak I've ever eaten, now I can not wait to go back and try another. This was our 3rd dinner at Sonora Steak, each one excellent in every way.

This was my first visit to Sonora Steak House in Maple Valley. The owners, who are patients at the clinic where I work, had recommended it, so I suggested it as the spot to celebrate my coworker’s birthday. The evening started off wonderfully, we were enjoying the great food, drinks, and atmosphere.
Unfortunately, the experience changed later in the evening. When we went to order another round, a woman named Sarah, who introduced herself as the general manager, addressed us with an unfriendly tone, almost as if our order was an inconvenience. She then told us it was “illegal” to serve a cocktail and a shot at the same time something I have never encountered at other establishments. Shortly afterward, she and our original server (a blonde American woman whose name I didn’t catch) were pointing in our direction before coming over to check our IDs, even though the bar was full of other patrons who were not being ID’d. This inconsistency felt unfair.
To make matters worse, the bartender dropped our bill on the table without engaging with us, which came across as dismissive. Thankfully, another bartender—a very kind Hispanic gentleman—helped us close out our tab politely.
Overall, the food was excellent, but the customer service we experienced from Sarah and the other bartender left a very negative impression.

I’ve enjoyed coming here from time to time with my husband and family, so this time I convinced my coworkers to try it out since we work right next door and they have happy hour. We were celebrating a coworker’s birthday and everything started off great—we were laughing, talking, eating, and having a good time with food and drinks.
The issue came later in the evening. When we went to order another round, a lady named Sarah (who I assume is a manager) came over and asked if we needed anything else. Her tone came across as if we were bothering her or like she wanted us to leave. We asked for cocktails and a birthday shot, but she said it was illegal to serve a cocktail and a shot, which I found odd. Then she started chatting with the bartender about our table, and only asked to ID us—yet the bar was full of other guests who weren’t asked for ID. That felt inconsistent and a bit unfair.
To top it off, when we asked the bartender for the check, She just tossed it on the table without even letting my friend finish what she was saying. It came across as dismissive and rude.
I’ve always enjoyed coming here with my husband and family, but after this experience, I’m not sure if I’ll be returning.

I have eaten here a handful of times and have enjoyed all of my experiences so far. We’ve tried the flight of wagyu, the denver and the salmon for mains. All were prepared expertly and were delicious. For sides we usually get the papa loca and the roasted cauliflower. The potato is extremely solid and is a must-try! The cauliflower is our favorite, the habanero truffle sauce is delicious without being a truffle gimmick. The atmosphere can be a little dark sometimes, definitely more of a romantic/date vibe at night. Highly recommend!
