The Red Dog Saloon

We love the Red Dog, they have the best burgers, fries and wings around! Love their fish and chips too. It’s a casual, friendly local bar with great drinks and friendly bartenders, too. Also does a lot of charity work for needy families and dogs. Highly recommend stopping by some afternoon for a burger, or catching the karaoke night or live music nights.

Good grief! We walked in today, asked if we could sit at the bar, and were told yes by the hostess at the door. We walked up to two stools, started to put our coats down, and the hostess came over and tried to usher us to a table. We said we preferred the bar, and she kept repeating "Everyone needs to be seated" as my husband and I were trying to sit down at the two stools in front of us. Again, she tried to send us to a table telling us we needed to be seated or the fire marshal would [something] - I didn't hear that part. Aggravated that she was telling us to sit down but not letting us sit down, we left. What?? I have never left a negative Facebook review before, but this called for one unfortunately. We were inside for under 60 seconds total. 0/10 do not recommend 😊

Our initial visit to this establishment offered a pleasant atmosphere, however, the unclean tables required a napkin wipe-down prior to our seating. The food was satisfactory, albeit somewhat expensive. The service, unfortunately, left much to be desired. We were required to seat ourselves and place our orders using a QR code. Upon being seated, we noticed the absence of utensils on the table. Additionally, a 20% gratuity was automatically added to the bill, despite the limited service provided. The food was simply dropped off at our table without any additional assistance or inquiries. To obtain beverages, we were required to purchase a drink card at the front desk and serve ourselves from the tap bar. Surprisingly, we were asked for another tip during this process. While retrieving our drinks, we discovered that our table had been occupied by another party. We were forced to reclaim our table as it contained our food order number. It may be advisable to take turns retrieving drinks to avoid such situations. Lastly, we were expected to clear our own table before departing. If I may offer a constructive suggestion to the management, I believe that having only two staff members at the front desk is insufficient to provide adequate service. Furthermore, if a gratuity is to be expected, it should be accompanied by a corresponding level of service. #RestaurantReview #ConstructiveFeedback

Visited the red dog saloon bar on my 50th birthday, we’d been on a trip and didn’t have long as the cruise ship was leaving in an hour!
We ordered 2 beers!
I payed by Visa card and that went through ok and the waitress gave me a paper receipt and asked if I’d like to leave a tip! So I put 5 dollars on there!
I questioned why that didn’t go through the till with my card, she replied oh we do that later!
Got home to the uk and they’ve taken £ off my card I didnt authorise! They’ve taken the same amount I payed for the beers again AND the 5 dollar tip! So in effect I’ve payed double!
It’s not the money, it’s the principle!
Being from the UK we didn’t know what kind of system they were running but I didn’t have any problems anywhere else!

This a grat place for bar food giant chilli dogs, Grilled sandwiches. Free pool, horse shoes, great bartenders, huge outdoor covered stage. Great place for live music
