This is my new favorite hang out and homework spot. I cannot get over the nicest baristas, Lauryn and Kathleen. This cafe does it all in a timely manner, the baristas are talented and kind, and is just beautiful inside.
They asked if I want avocado or cream cheese for my smocked salmon sandwich. I choose avocado. Turns out, they were putting spicy guacamole, instead. I have to throw the whole thing away, it was terrible and ruined the taste of the salmon completely. Also, the whole sandwich was a tick pieces of bread, and not chiabatta, as they promised, guacamole and 2 small pieces of salmon. I am not gonna go there again. Pictures looks nice, but the inside is not that good.
I've only been to the cafe a few times and plan to go more. The drinks are fantastic along with the delicious savory sandwiches & crepini. Personally i like to get the white chocolate mocha. They have great customer service, always engaging with customers while making the order. I got to meet the owner and he is nice. Definitely will come here again!!!!!!
Recently moved into the area and started frequenting Newsroom. The good: The coffee is good. The prices are fair. It's a fun little space. The bad: This shop seems simultaneously under and overworked. There's only ever 1 employee working at a time and they're always dealing with a bunch of online orders. Really seems like there should be 2 employees on-hand. The employees are either dazzling or duds. On one occasion a newer employee overcharged me for my coffee and then made it incorrectly. The next day an obviously experienced employee gave me a price reduction and made a great cup. From reading reviews on this shop it seems like the recent management change has not done well for the business. I hope they will improve their training and staffing practices so this shop can be as good as it should be.
Great smoked salmon and bagel. Only there for takeout, managing Covid protections well.
Just visited for first time and very pleased with the panini and desserts.
The person making coffee and food in the morning isn't wearing a mask. When I come in she quickly puts it on but people should know their food and drinks and getting her germs and breath all over them.
Sandwiches are amazing!!! Coffee is good, prices are good, and they have treats for my little puppers! New fav cafe.
There is not enough words to describe how much my partner and I love the Newsroom. First off, the drinks and food are SO good. We have become suckers for the lotus drinks, but we're also big fans of the chai tea lattes, which are MUCH better than Starbucks. The pizza bagel is also a house favorite, not to mention basically every sandwich. We even tried a keto crepini, even though neither of us are keto, and that was delicious. PLUS the service is incredible. They are so nice and friendly. When the pandemic is over, we'll probably be going here every day.
Went in for pastries we saw on their menu. Unfortunately, they were completely out. Decided on 2 scoops of ice cream. These were very tiny scoops, smaller than kid scoops. Paid almost 7.00 dollars. To make matters worse, the ice cream was old and full of ice crystals. We like supporting local small businesses. Very disappointed. I hope the owners read this and make changes. Thank you

Awesome staffViktor the owner cares about his customers and highly recommend this placeGreat food
I have only ordered in, but the food/drink is so good! Very reasonably priced, always still warm, and absolutely delicious. I can't wait until covid is over and I can go in regularly. I'll never go back to Starbucks for my chai tea lattes again!
My partner and I discovered The Newsroom on Doordash the day after we moved into our new apartment. It has now been over a week in our new home, and we have had Newsroom for at lesst one meal every single day. Their menu is very diverse; we have ordered something different each time and have not been disappointed. The moment quarantine is over, we're going to go to the Cafe in person and thank the owner.
I'm here on vacation and had this wonderful girl Chelsea wait on me! What a delight, so refreshing to see someone doing a great job at what they love and it shows through her service! Phenomenal!!!
I understand Washington is an at will state-- but firing someone via email with absolutely no explanation is a pretty awful thing to do.
