The G.O.A.T. of teriyaki in the greater Seattle area. No-nonsense menu. Meats are always tender and the sauce is so good, not sickeningly sweet like some other places I've tried. Chicken is obviously the classic choice but honestly I think the beef might be even better!
Takeout only.

What a pleasant surprise. This is now my favorite Teiyaki restaurant. Be aware that good food takes time and we had about a 20 minute wait after ordering but completely worth it!

Perfect teriyaki chicken. But this should surprise nobody as this guy literally invented it!

Discovered this place recently and never knew about the history of Seattle Teriyaki.
This is the best chicken teriyaki you will ever eat and it will be a sad day when Mr Kasahara decides to retire.
Till then, I will eat here religiously.

The absolute OG of Teriyaki. Toshi to me is a local legend and I’ve been meaning to try out his Teriyaki for a while now. I’ve had teriyaki all over the Seattle area the last couple of years, and his is by far my favorite. The sauce is not overbearingly sweet, the char on the chicken is incredible, and it’s clearly freshly cooked, not just sitting in a hotel pan waiting to be reheated. The rice is also some of the best I’ve had from a teriyaki spot. Perfectly cooked chicken, perfectly cooked rice. Just can’t get much better than that. Only con is that there’s no indoor seating so you’ll need to take it to go or eat outside, but not a knock against them at all. I think it’s incredible that we can still get teriyaki from the originator of teriyaki as know it, and I was surprised that they were not nearly as busy as I expected. Can’t recommend Toshi’s enough!

Recommend placing an order through the phone as there is usually a wait. Note, they are open at 4 PM on Fridays.

Overrated teriyaki. Deserves less than 4 starts. Food is average or slightly below. Chicken had no flavor, looked spongy. Beef also was average teriyaki beef. Service was 0 for me. They were polite and friendly to other people, but for me rude and unfriendly to me. The salad it comes is tiny in sauce cup. More than 30 minute wait if you didn't order online.

Drove for 40 minutes only to find out they're closed until June 12. Wasted time!

Heard the original owner cooks the food here. Tried it, not sure if the original teriyaki chicken was better than other Toshi's, but I was hungry and it tasted really good. The chicken was not dry and the sauce had a hint of sweetness, not overtly sweet like most places. Would go again if I happen to be in the area.
Best beef teriyaki in the pnw!
The OG of Seattle Style Teriyaki
The original toshi's location. Food quality much better than the toshi's near my house, and bigger portion sizes too! Take out only was a little sad, but it's a really small little place. Great food, no overhead.
I have been supporting Toshi's restaurants for decades. Best teriyaki chicken in the Seattle area. The chicken is juicy and flavorful with a light char. The sauce is better than any other in the Seattle area with a nice balance of sweetness and saltiness. The coleslaw is crunchy and tasty without an excessive amount of sauce on it. The rice is not overcooked as is frequently the case at other teriyaki restaurants. The menu is very limited and it is not unusual to walk in and find they are out of all entrees except for one. The hours are also very limited. They are open only a few days during the week (never on weekends) and only at lunch time for a few hours, after which they close and open again for a few hours at dinner time. Good luck with trying to call in an order. There are several more restaurants in the area with the same name and most seem to be in the 425 area code and have women with a limited command of English who answer the phone. You can ask over and over again if you are calling the Mill Creek restaurant and can be told Yes, Yes. Don't believe them. If you want food from the Mill Creek restaurant, go there in person and order your food. Otherwise, you could be placing an order at a different restaurant that is miles away. The service at the Mill Creek restaurant is the worst I have experienced at any teriyaki restaurant. Certainly, not the polite behavior anyone who has been to Japan has experienced. The woman who is usually at the register has become rude and unfriendly. In the early years, after they opened at this Mill Creek location, she was a little guarded but still somewhat friendly. I don't know what happened to her but after COVID hit, she was outright rude and hostile. I don't appreciate having my order tossed at me or to have her rush from behind the counter in an intimidating manner to grab a business card from my hand after she handed it to me. Watch your credit card statements because the system they use may charge you for other people's orders. In one case, I was charged for at least two meals when I ordered only one. The restaurant is very small, has no tables (removed during COVID), but the facility seems to be kept clean.
