We love this neighborhood spot! Amazing food and great wine & cocktails. Above all, the staff are so welcoming and great. I highly recommend their dinner service and their happy hour (currently 3-5). Recommendations: any of their specials, their (vegetarian) lasagna, chicken pot pie, savory cheesecake, all the apps. They also have a wine club you can look up on their website. Definitely recommend this place for a date, after work to wait for traffic to die down, a special occasion or family meal. They have some cute outdoor seating and are family friendly. I would recommend reservations or at least looking but they also have a small bar you can sit at. On weekends I recommend a reservation as they are in a smaller space (don't let the location across from the Newcastle library in the shopping plaza fool you-this is a great gem). You will feel comfortable as you are, or dressed up here too. The friendly owner is often around to welcome you and make sure you are having a great experience! Parking is easy, it's friendly to persons with a disability, and there are vegetarian options. I am sure you can ask about other dietary restrictions. They have a great vibe and lovely art.

Great happy hour! And they had a wine tasting going on so we couldn't help ourselves 😄

Popped in for a quick breakfast with mother. Had no idea the breadth of product available inside. We had a wonderful morning and can't wait to return.

This is a GREAT place! 4 of us went for a Girl Night out and the food was AMAZING. Great menu with fun choices. Great Wine selection as well. The service was great and we met the owner who was super nice as well. We will be coming back for more!
Fried Olives, Deviled Eggs, Chicken Pot Pie and Lasagna were delicious and unique. Can't wait to try more!

Hidden little gem. Had amazing food and good atmosphere. Everything we ordered did not disappoint- deviled eggs, carrot tahini dip, burrata, duck confit sliders, braised lamb plate and closed with affogato and warm crisp cake.

Best happy hour in town! Great service, yummy food, and great beverage options. Newcastle needed a place like this.

Way overpriced for mediocre food. My friend and I are not big eaters and the sizes were very small and the price expensive. We shared a salad and lasagna and had two glasses of wine off the happy hour menu. We also shared a dessert and it was $100 before tip.

Disappointing to see Ann here. Rude, bad at her job, snarky. Owner Jen should look into this one.

If you’re looking for a slice of Seattle’s big-city vibe without venturing into the city, this café-restaurant is an absolute gem nestled right in Newcastle. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by an upbeat yet relaxed atmosphere with music thoughtfully selected by the staff, making you feel like you've stepped into a cool urban café. It’s clear the team has put a lot of heart into the upscale and welcoming ambiance.

The staff here are incredibly warm and welcoming; they go above and beyond to make every visit feel special. Annie, Bella, and Mikaila, in particular, always ensure our experience is fantastic. Their hospitality is next level, so much so that even my 4-year-old daughter loves coming here with me – she’s treated like a little VIP every time! They’ve created an environment that feels comfortable and inviting for everyone, whether you’re a regular or a first-time guest.

As for the food, the menu is as eclectic as it is delicious. There’s something for everyone, and you can tell each dish is crafted with care. The coffee is out of this world – rich, smooth, and full of flavor – easily one of the best around. And if you’re here for dinner, don’t miss the cocktails! They’re perfectly mixed, with unique flavors that match the spirit of the place.

This is not your typical suburban café, nor is it part of the usual chain-restaurant crowd. Every visit here is an experience, and you can really feel the love that goes into it. It’s a true hidden gem, standing out proudly among the standard options. Highly recommend checking it out for a taste of the city vibe right in the heart of the suburbs!

Hard to believe we have such a gem of a restaurant right in Newcastle. Such warm and personable service from the manager/owner, John, and his crew. The food is top notch, better than what you can find in a top tier restaurant in downtown Bellevue - we've tried the salads, the tagliatelle, the chicken pot pie (filled with actual delicious chicken, and not potato as filler) and the beef and they are so good. The olive oil cake is a must-try. Pet friendly if dining outdoors. Highly recommend, you won't regret it.

Excuse me this place is everything! Jenn and John welcomed me so warmly and set me up at the bar where I needed to get some work done during my son’s practice. Ordered the spritz and tostada (YUM!). Love the ambiance, kind employees, super yummy food, and somewhere to work that’s cozy.

So today was the second time I visit Cafe Coleman. At first glance it looked like an excellent place and the food was really good. There was only one very big recurring problem. The attitude in the place is simply repulsive and disrespectful! When you pay almost $8 for a small coffee beyond what you expect the coffee to be good, you also want to get as good service as possible, unfortunately Coleman Coffee failed twice. The first time, after I complained that the coffee did not arrive as I requested, I encountered angry faces from the barmaid and they also "forgot" to serve me water even though I asked twice. Today I decided to give them another chance. I didn't want to burden them too much so I just asked for a small iced coffee. But they "forgot" again while at the same time I notice that customers who ordered drinks much later get what they ordered on time. The place is very atmospheric and you seem to have an excellent product, but the "forgetful" waiters/bartenders ruin the whole experience. If you want to receive condescending service and hateful looks when you drink your morning coffee this is the perfect place for you. I will definitely not be coming back here again.
