Alan and Mary White here from Blinds Etc. We had a customer in Newport and saw Owen’s as we drove by. There were two elderly gentlemen sitting outside enjoying the day and they highly recommended this spot for lunch. They smoke their own beef and turkey and the homemade brownies were fantastic. They even make their own ice cream! This place has the charm of an old time soda fountain and takes you back in time. We will drive the hour to go again.
Great milk shacks.
Fantastic sandwiches!!
Good homemade ice cream
Love this place!
Update 7/5/24 - We come back whenever we are up at Diamond Lake!
Small home town shop that's what you should expect
A wonderful stop anytime , thank you for the great service and superb ice cream!
This place was the highlight of our visit to Newport. Stopped in for a deli sandwich and was pleasantly surprised by the fresh made while I waited sandwich. The person behind the counter was friendly and let me pick my fixings as he built my sandwich. It was so good! They also have these fresh, in house made potato bites. A change from fries and very nicely made! We will definitely plan to go there next time we pass through.
Still the best sandwich ever
Went in for hand scooped ice cream. It was $1 for the waffle cone and it was total $6.37 for I’m not even sure what this is called? The ice cream didn’t go into the cone. Way over priced. No issues with staff.

Great place to eat. Cool old time nostalgia. Reasonable prices. Good food.
Best place for a REAL deli sandwichGot dark rye ,double roast beef and all the toppingsBest Deli sandwich!!!Even better that those 2 down in Rathrum and Hayden
I waited almost 10 minutes un acknowledged to be rung up because everyone was behind the deli counter. I agree with another reviewer that- not a great practice to switch between money handling and food prep without washing hands. There were no prices displayed on anything in the store. Had a roast beef sandwich, wasn't impressed. However, the homemade huckleberry ice cream and expresso ice cream was quite good. Not sure how much I paid for that, wasn't even displayed on the receipt. The not knowing how much you are paying for everything especially in todays economy not a great practice. I do live nearby locally but would probably not return.
Like eating in a museum with family.
honestly the best store i have ever encountered... friendly folk, nicely decorated, and honestly the best bubblegum ice-cream ever
