“German Tourist Discovers the Holy Grail of BBQ in Oak Harbour”

Guten Tag, meine Damen und Herren. As a German, I thought I knew meat. We have Wurst, we have Schnitzel, we have entire festivals dedicated to beer and pork. But then… BBQ happened. More specifically: Orlando’s Southern BBQ.

At first, a tragic tragedy: no beef brisket! No pulled pork! My inner Bavarian cried into his Weißbier. But then… they brought me the chopped brisket. Freunde, it was like Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, but in meat form. Juicy, smoky, rich — I nearly stood up and sang Freude schöner Götterfunken.

The ribs? Ach du lieber, so juicy I needed an engineering degree just to keep them from sliding off the bone. The chicken? Moist and tender like it had been raised on Mozart lullabies. And then the sauces — vier Stück! Four of them! Each one a completely different adventure: spicy, sweet, tangy, smoky. It was like going on a BBQ world tour without leaving the table.

Side dishes? My Oma would slap me if she knew I said this, but the cole slaw and potato salad might actually be better than hers. The baked beans sang a love song, the fries were handmade like precision German engineering, but with extra soul.

And the waiter… mein Gott. Attentive, helpful, and friendlier than a Labrador retriever at Oktoberfest.

So, five stars, zehn Punkte, Michelin tires, everything. If you are in Oak Harbour and you do not eat here, you are basically committing a culinary crime.

First thing you notice when you walk in is the BBQ smell that permeates the place, followed by the huge smiles on everyone's faces. I was greeted warmly by every employee that noticed me, even after I ordered, and was waiting. The food...AMAZING...big flavors, tender meat, no shortage of food, will definitely be coming back.

The staff was very nice, but new to full service and our server seemed like he wasn't trained. He was very nice though, and the food was delicious! There were 4 of us who ordered at the same time and two of our party guy their food about 30 minutes after the other two. No apologies for the delay.
Once they get the hang of fill y service this will be 5 stars

Holy cow, holy pig, holy chicken! Everything smells wonderful, and the flavors!!!!!!! Spicy pork nachos are where it's at for me. Hubby got a pulled pork sammie with all the fixins. Friendly faces all around. We went in at an off time, so we got a great look at how clean everything was, how vast their dining spaces were, and all the pool tables. It is a crime not to come in and see all the smiling folks! Go get you some!

We ordered online Saturday 8.2.25 around 6:20pm. We received an email at 6:58pm saying hour dinner was ready. I arrived at 7:15pm after 10 min after we arrived we were told by a manager I think that it would be 5 more min. 10 min later I asked if they could bring the dinner to My car. I had a 2yrs old and a 3yrs old with me. I got the kids buckled in and waited. A customer came out and told me my food was ready. I told him the lady at the counter said she would bring it out. Minutes later she and I think the manager brought out the food. I explained how happy I was and how long, completely unorganized and in convenient it was to wait so long after I was Emailed that my food was ready. I paid $95.00 for small portions. The meat was fine the cornbread was NASTY AND the sides were NOT worth the money. I wasn't offered any compensation or discount due to the inconvenience.
I was only told that I should complain online.
Being a manager at many restaurants, this is completely not acceptable customer service. Very Disappointing 😞

Fantastic. Didn't know exactly what to expect but everything was exceptional - from the ambience to the service to the food. We are already recommending it to people we know.

The space is larger than you might think when you first walk in and the decorating is in very good taste. We sat in the bar and Alexis gave us great suggestions and service. The Brisket and baby back ribs were cooked perfectly and I can only speak to the onion rings on the sides menu, but they were perfect.

Performed there with a group recently and my family tagged along to have dinner. The night was chaotic but the entire staff handled it with grace and kindness. Our group, and my family were well taken care of and the food was incredible.

We tried this bbq place the other night the food and service was amazing I even bought a bottle of bbq sauce for home. The brisket was amazing and so the peach cobbler

Let’s start with the baked beans, the best on the planet. Sweet, smoky, brisket filled. They’re in a league of their own. The chicken? Total fire. Juicy, outdoor bbq grill vibe, and cooked to perfection with a flame broiled flavor. Those brisket nachos, cheesy, meaty with great flavor. Every bite hits. And they don't skimp.

And the beignets? Okay, they’re not your classic New Orleans version but don’t sleep on them. They’ve got this awesome hushpuppy-beignet hybrid thing going on. Fluffy inner center, golden, perfectly crispy outside…absolutely phenomenal. Orlando’s isn’t just doing BBQ, they’re out here flexing. Bravo!

Quite spendy but excellent food, excellent service, and a great atmosphere. I had the 'Bama Bowl with pulled pork and potato salad for my side. I was expecting a smaller dish but the proportions were large and filling! Shared some of those hush-puppies. Very yum!

Food was fantastic 😍 We ordered brisket, ribs and side dishes. All yummy.
Atmosphere and service was definitely lacking. We were seated in the back near the kitchen so all of the servers passed our table. One of the young ladies wore so much perfume (not a nice one) that we almost asked to be moved but couldn't tell who it was and might end up in her section if moved). Servers should never wear that much.... people have allergies and we're there to enjoy the food. Our drink order wasn't acknowledged by the bartender who had only one couple in the bar. Our food was brought and we still hadn't gotten them.
The server followed up with her. The drinks were then placed on the counter but the server left them there for another five minutes. The bill came while we were still eating and our drinks only half gone. The ladies bringing food to the table seemed confused too (like asking if we wanted utensils? And handing us plates and utensils because she didn't seem to know where they should go. She made a comment that she didn't want to put utensils directly on the table. Why? Was it not cleaned beforehand?)
Lastly, please get rid of the walky talkies. Felt like we were eating at a loading dock. Not a good atmosphere. We literally were 20 ft from the bar and our server used it to have a discussion with the bartender about our missing drinks.,.walk over next time please 😞
