A trip to Ocean Shores is not complete without a trip to Murphy’s. Whether you’re getting a scoop on your way out of town, after dinner, or heading to the beach, there’s no bad time for Murphy’s. They also stock salt water taffy, a variety of candies, and specialty sodas. There’s something for everyone!

Well, a trip to the coast almost demands trying taffy and this shop had dozens of flavors. All of them were fresh, unlike what shows up in grocery stores at times.

What was disappointing was that the flavors were so subdued on many that it was not easy to differentiate one from another. To be sure, it may be possible to go too far in the opposite direction, but that was not a consideration from our purchase of a dozen flavors..

Another couple was enjoying ice cream on a bench outside and gave it higher marks. Maybe next time we'll try that instead.

Selection was good for post-Labor Day.

The homemade ice cream at this place is truly delightful. We tried their bubble gum and coconut almond flavors, both of which were incredibly tasty and rich in flavor. The bubble gum had a nostalgic sweetness, while the coconut almond offered a perfect blend of nutty and creamy textures. Overall, a wonderful experience for ice cream lovers!

Came in to have ice cream and asked for a sample of the banana ice cream. The sample on the wooden spoon was so tiny all we could taste was the wooden spoon. I am not even kidding. Each cone is weighed and are very small. 2 single scoop cones for 13.00.icw cream was semi hard with very little flavor We will not return.

I was surprised the Caramel Praline Pecan was so bland. I asked for a dish and was given equal to a scoop and the ice cream tasted like vanilla iced milk with pecans. For the price I paid, I'm so disappointed.

This used to be our go-to place for ice cream anytime we visited Ocean Shores. I don’t know what happened, but Murphy’s has lost its touch. Between the four flavors we had, not one did we enjoy. They were not creamy and full of flavor like they used to be, but bland and had a slightly icy consistency. A couple had a weird aftertaste. Prices are high at more than $5 for one small scoop. Service was quick but not personable, however, I understand how busy they can get.
Flavor synopsis:
Berry Cheesecake - bland vanilla.
Salted Caramel - didn’t taste salt nor caramel.
Grasshopper (mint with Oreo) minty and that’s about it, Oreos the best part.
Bubblegum - I don’t even know what this tasted like, but it wasn’t bubblegum ice cream.

Fantastic ice cream. When it's busy there is a wait, which is problematic for those of us with commitment difficulties .... so many flavor options .... I can change my mind 5 or 6 times before I place my order .... it's hard to walk out with just 1 choice ..... and harder yet to walk out with 5 or 6 cones, so I have to limit myself to my final decision.

Parking: Murphy's is in a strip mall with lots of parking spaces.
