I’ve been having so much fun at this local gem on the Palouse. It’s both the art gallery and a cute little bistro with a small but always creative healthy menu. The owners are kind open-hearted people, and it adds to this welcoming warm atmosphere we enjoy so much. Watch for their charming special events and dinners. They are unique. Make your reservations beforehand.

If you love art, if you like to live with art in your home, go to The Bankleft, meet Nelson and Pam Duran and buy something special. Nelson is a painter, he has a few of his own paintings there, they sell quickly. He promotes local artists from the area. In a small town amidst the rolling hills of the Palouse, The Bankleft is a treasure. Hours are very limited. Sat. is the best time to see the gallery, 11 to 3.

I went to a tea at the Bank Left Gallery and Bistro. We had a chance to peruse the art gallery before going in for tea and saw many interesting items. Since this was a tea for a group that was planned ahead, all was in readiness. We had three sweet and three savory items, and it was plenty and delicious...even one with ingredients I don't usually like. The service staff was efficient and friendly. My only complaint is that I have been at teas where three different kinds of tea were offered, and this event only had one, but it was most delicious and served with real cream.

Thank you to Nelson and Pamela for hosting a wonderful Jane Austen Birthday Tea for our group. The food was amazing--cucumber sandwiches, crostini with cheese and poached pears, tres leches bundt cakes, lavender creme brulee, and much more! The service was attentive and polite. The gallery was festive. It was a wonderful afternoon. JASNA, Eastern Washington/Northern Idaho Region

Here I am, a year later, and my family and I still joke about how terrible our experience at Left Bank was. It's an infamous family story now. We're all still traumatized. Dont go here.
