If you love art, if you like to live with art in your home, go to The Bankleft, meet Nelson and Pam Duran and buy something special. Nelson is a painter, he has a few of his own paintings there, they sell quickly. He promotes local artists from the area. In a small town amidst the rolling hills of the Palouse, The Bankleft is a treasure. Hours are very limited. Sat. is the best time to see the gallery, 11 to 3.
I went to a tea at the Bank Left Gallery and Bistro. We had a chance to peruse the art gallery before going in for tea and saw many interesting items. Since this was a tea for a group that was planned ahead, all was in readiness. We had three sweet and three savory items, and it was plenty and delicious...even one with ingredients I don't usually like. The service staff was efficient and friendly. Thank you to Nelson and Pamela for hosting a wonderful Jane Austen Birthday Tea for our group. The food was amazing--cucumber sandwiches, crostini with cheese and poached pears, tres leches bundt cakes, lavender creme brulee, and much more! The service was attentive and polite.
