Decided to take a random drive on Labor Day up to Point Roberts. Started our Point Roberts sightseeing with a delicious lunch at the Reef Tavern. This appears to be the place where locals and tourists alike visit. There is a spectacular outdoor seating area next to the ocean and each table has an umbrella.

We opted to eat inside. I ordered a hamburger with fries for $16. My wife had the fish (cod) & chips with a side bowl of clam chowder($3 additional). Everything was very delicious.

Our waitress was very friendly, frequently checked on us, and offered us places to visit in the afternoon. Lovely service and tavern.

Highly recommend if you find yourself in Point Roberts.

You can't beat the spectacular view here - it's the best on the lower mainland of Vancouver. The sunsets are simply outstanding and unforgettable, but it's beautiful all day. This is a favorite spot of ours due to views as mentioned - plus the friendly staff and owner (dual citizen, by the way, and related to Gene Kiniski who used to own the place), laid back atmosphere and good food. The plus this year is the made in house craft cocktails because they're soooo good. Sometimes they have specials. Last night we had ribs and brisket, and the other night we had tacos and a chicken enchilada casserole with a spicy pineapple margarita (both nights). I'm surprised this place can keep up with how busy it gets here in the summer with all of the constraints they have due to their location...and, unfortunately, politics. But it works.

The Reef has Monday night trivia 6:30-8:30pm, Flip-for-it Thursday, and Friday karaoke from 8:00-11:00pm! Woot woot! My hubby and I visited Point Roberts just for the day, but with a line-up like that, we want to relocate permanently to this pleasant exclave. I had a scrumptious Caesar salad with salmon, washed down with a dangerously good rosemary gin fizz…yummmmmm…
Our server was quite pleasant and competent, and she even knew where to buy postcards (International market)! The Reef has a nice big outdoor seating area. We absolutely loved our fun day trip to Point Roberts and the Reef was a big reason why.

Came for the Fish and chips. The fish was good but the fries were bland and dry. Service was good, enjoyed the staff. The atmosphere was a little dull inside, but the tables outside where nice. Would return.

Easily the worst dining experience I've had in the last decade. We were seated right away by a nice waitress, but ended up getting a different waitress who clearly had some issue with us despite us being polite the entire time. We waited 45 min for a burger + fish n chips + clam chowder, and the burger was literally charcoal on the bottom it was so burnt. The fried fish was tasteless, with the fried part like paper. The clam chowder was the best part of the meal and it was below average at best. I showed the waitress the burnt burger, who was clearly pissed off I would even mention my food was burnt, and she sent it back and let the owner know. Another 30 min later (1hr15 at this point!) the burger was still not replaced. I had enough at that point and let a different waitress (ours was nowhere to be found) know we'd pay for the fish n chips and leave. She brought the owner Nick over, who was very apologetic and to his credit did try to make it up to us by comping the meal (added a star for this) and trying to get the burger out faster, but it still took another 8 min so I just got it to go and left.
Even if the service had been great I wouldn't recommend this place as the food was quite bad - it's clear the cook is the biggest issue; I feel bad for the owner since he probably has trouble hiring replacements due to the location right on the border.
I'd recommend steering clear of this place until they find a different cook.

We popped by this sea side restaurant for lunch amd a few drinks. Our server was really nice and attentive.

Nick stopped by our table to introduce himself. He is the owner. He was kind enough to give us a large bag of ice for our boat.

The food was good and came out fairly quickly.

The view was gorgeous. The weather was beautiful.

If you're looking for a casual, laid backed atmosphere, popped by Kiniski's!
