Nice little place well worth stopping for a coffee and baked good. I bet in the summer it would be amazing on the deck.

Super yummy food with kind staff! Helped me decide what to get. The soup was soup-er and the avocado toast was great! I’ll definitely be eating here again!

This place is my go-to spot for breakfast and a scrumptious baked good! The outdoor patio is dog-friendly too!

Nice spot near the water. It is a bit rugged, but that is part of the charm. The sandwiches and soup are fantastic and the value for money is very good. A good spot for lunch.

Second visit with the family and the service was just as disappointing as the first. Staff were indifferent, except for the cook who actually bothered to bring food out.

The owner told me she has not been able to update her website since her developer moved to Australia. After years, that excuse doesn’t cut it. That same lack of care shows up everywhere.

We sat out back at a dirty, wobbly table. Asked for it to be cleaned, never happened. Asked for cushions since we were sitting on metal chairs. Was told they were all in the front, even though there were 20 empty seats up there with cushions. None were brought to us.

Tried to order mac and cheese for my son. Not available. Tried a BLTA but not available as avocado was too hard. My daughter’s grilled cheese was forgotten entirely. Couldn’t even check the receipt because the machine was broken. Bathroom had no soap.

The sandwiches are fine, but everything else is a mess. Dirty tables, broken systems, poor service, zero attention to detail. It starts with the owner and trickles all the way down.

We love Point Roberts, but won’t be back to Saltwater Café. If you care about service and basic standards, pack a lunch.

We decided to visit Point Roberts, and arrived hungry! We liked the menu and the food did not disappoint. I had the spinach salad with added chicken. Everything was fresh and tasty. My partner opted for breakfast, served all day, and enjoyed a bagel with lox, topped with red onion and capers. There was a soup of the day and a variety of sandwiches. We chose to save room for one of the delectable pastries displayed on the counter. While we ate lunch, two different fellows came in, sent to “pick up something sweet” to bring home.

Service was friendly and attentive. One orders at the counter, but staff bring food to the table, offer water and more coffee, etc. The cafe is small inside, with a nice deck for outdoor dining. We were there on a sunny summer day, but I think it would be quite cozy on a chilly day…maybe another little day trip to see some fall color and a lunch of soup and one of the panini sandwiches…

What a delightful place to sit and have coffee and breakfast! The pastries looked delicious, but the bagel & lox was amazing! Lovely atmosphere and caring staff.

Saltwater Cafe was easily the highlight of our visit to Point Roberts. We were curious to see what this corner of the USA had to offer and wanted to feel what it's like to live in a place that is so isolated from the rest of the country. Turns out that there's not much to see and do, with the notable exception of this cafe. Pleasant terraces all around and a cosy area inside. A lovely barista, nice selection of cakes and good coffee. The lunch menu looked appealing too, but we weren't hungry so didn't try it this time but definitely would during a future visit.
